plexus Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 After a long, unfulfiling day at work, if in need of a pick-me-up, all I have to do is click... http://www2.nature.nps.gov/air/WebCams/parks/nocacam/nocacam.cfm And life seems somewhat a little better. And if that doesn't work, well, that's what beer is for. Quote

Dechristo Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 A downside for those that live in the dry, high altitude climate of the Rocky Mountains and spend a lot of time outside is that skin that's seen alot of exposure is like a leather razor strop by the time your in your fifties. Quote
whidbey Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 For those who don't like it... get the fuck out and go somewhere else.... Wouldn't mind it a whole lot. I love the Cascades/Northwest and if'n you don't... fuck off!! Quote

Johnny_Tuff Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Decidedly delicate dermis, coupled with climatological cliquishness. Quote
griz Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 this thread made me all sentimental over the PNW now. So for kicks i started looking at some old pictures of some of my good ol hiking partners up there after some of my favorite hikes. Enjoy!!! Quote

wfinley Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 that's funny because whenever i need a pick me up or miss the cascades i just thumb through my PNW summit photos... That's hilarious! I once spent 2 weeks in the Alaska Range with an old college roommate who had gone the way of the darkside (he 'worked' as a campground host in Heuco). It rained for 10 days straight (rain on a glacier SUCKS) and he spent the whole time getting baked and talking about Portreo Chico. When TAT flew in to pick us up he literally dove into the plane. I think he sold his crampons when he got back to Texas. These days when I fly into some place to practice my shoveling I usually start thinking about Mexico and wonder if my old roommate knows something I don't. Quote
Distel32 Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 but wait, how many glaciers do you have in CO!? sucker and 14eers you can drive to the top off? the largest population of posers. Quote
still_climbin Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 14ers don't count for much when you start measuring at a 6,000 ft base. Quote
skykilo Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 How many 14ers in Colorado start at 6k, one? (Pike's Peak.) Seems like most of 'em start at 10k. Here's a summit photo from yesterday for Grissle. Quote
