DirtyHarry Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Sean McCabe and Jeff Hansl are both very good local (WA state) artist / climbers. Anyone ever read that book by Pat Ament called "How to be a Master Climber?" Regardless of the words, the book had some real cool wood carve print illustrations(similar to the one above). Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I forgot about Jeff Hansel. He had some works of his on display somewhere in Cap Hill last year. I really like his painting of Oregon Jack. Quote
chucK Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 The painting was done by a rock climber. You could tell, because of the way the rock was painted...that the person had a connection to it. And I think he is a local guy who still climbs, because a friend offered to introduce me to him. The painting Olympia Climber is referring to was done by Jeff Hansel. Is that the same painting that Jeff never got paid for? (as of last summer anyway) Quote
olyclimber Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I'd give him money to paint me one of those ravens or the el cap painting. I really liked both. Quote

EWolfe Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 (edited) I have an 1887 etching of half dome and el cap by Thomas Moran, which was one of the acid etches that convinced Hoover to make Yosemite an National Park. It's not signed, or it would be really valuable link to bigger pic Edited January 15, 2006 by MisterE Quote
