RocNoggin Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 great pics and a great report! thanks! cheers! Quote
Chad_A Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 We did not downclimb the main gulley, we downclimbed a chute to the skiers right of the main gulley. Much easier looking. D'oh! That's the one that David said we should've checked out Quote
texplorer Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Nice job but it hardly looks like WI4 or WI5 Quote
rbw1966 Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Tex--where do you see anywhere that they said WI 4 or 5? I see mention of WI3-4 which I can generally agree with depending on the conditions although much more likely to be WI3. Quote

OlegV Posted December 9, 2005 Author Posted December 9, 2005 It felt more like WI3 leading it - lot of places to rest your feet. Quote
OlegV Posted December 9, 2005 Author Posted December 9, 2005 I wonder if there is any WI4-5 ice on Hood. What about the east-side of the mountain? Quote
John Frieh Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I rock. More like rime IV-V. Black Spider has IV-V depending on conditions. Quote
John Frieh Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Rime. Not WI. I forgot some of the lines on the cooper spur above the elliot (cookie crumble or whatever Ivan calls them) can be WI 5 (or harder). I've seen some spicy curtains before... You want WI watch for March Madness on I rock or start studying the black spider. Or drive North. Quote
