Chad_A
We did not downclimb the main gulley, we downclimbed a chute to the skiers right of the main gulley. Much easier looking. D'oh! That's the one that David said we should've checked out

texplorer
Nice job but it hardly looks like WI4 or WI5
rbw1966
Tex--where do you see anywhere that they said WI 4 or 5? I see mention of WI3-4 which I can generally agree with depending on the conditions although much more likely to be WI3.
texplorer
good point - I stand corrected

Good call, that's about right...although, I suck at ice ratings
OlegV
It felt more like WI3 leading it - lot of places to rest your feet.

OlegV
I wonder if there is any WI4-5 ice on Hood. What about the east-side of the mountain?
John Frieh
I rock. More like rime IV-V. Black Spider has IV-V depending on conditions.

John Frieh
Rime. Not WI. I forgot some of the lines on the cooper spur above the elliot (cookie crumble or whatever Ivan calls them) can be WI 5 (or harder). I've seen some spicy curtains before... You want WI watch for March Madness on I rock or start studying the black spider. Or drive North.
