Worst Haircut Ever?

my official third-grade photo (meaning, circa 1981) was one of the worst photos of me, EVER.

 

dorky early-80s kid haircut. right on the cusp of the 70s n' the 80s, and all the turbulent changes in pop culture that happened in that time.

I got my worst haircut when I was 5. I had long, silky hair (first pic). My dad took me in for a haircut, and I came back...a boy! (Second pic--me on the left, with my bro.) My mom and grandma were furious--I think my mom may have even cried.

 

I didn't mind the ultrashort hair cut until I started ballet lessons shortly after, and a girl in the class told me to go stand with the boys, because I looked like a boy. Bitch.

My mom kind of took some hairdressing courses or her dad was a barber or something so she figured that it was a good idea to save a little cash and massacre my head on a regular basis. I don't even want to think of those days. I used to wear hot towels on my head to try to get it to grow back faster. There was blood allover the place my fucking earlobes were just hanging there sometimes. You could hear the screaming all over the block.Traumatic times for a young buck. I dated lots of hair dressers after that....female ones of course....
