Fairweather Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Recently came to my attention. How long has this policy been in effect at cc.com? Why? Has the local land-manager posse been complaining? Which forum is next? Quote
olyclimber Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Definitely spray. Spray is next. To post in spray you'll need your mom's signature, three co-signers, and of course approval of 7 out of 9 mods. Its obviously evil at work. Quote
Fairweather Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 MattP; access forum moderator. I should have known. Quote
olyclimber Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 He's definitely a commie. Do you think he floats? If he floats, he's a commie who has enforced his will upon the site. Where is my tin foil hat? Quote
Stonehead Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 He's definitely a commie. Do you think he floats? If he floats, he's a commie who has enforced his will upon the site. Where is my tin foil hat? Â And probably a Mason too!! Â Quote
mattp Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Kiss my a**, Fairweather. I had nothing to do with any decision about how to set up permissions for that forum, and not only that but I don't even get the messages of any proposed post. I would have put that thread on there immediately if I had. Quote
archenemy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Hey Matt, how's it going? Are you going to the East side pub club tonite? Quote
Fairweather Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 Kiss my a**, Fairweather. I had nothing to do with any decision about how to set up permissions for that forum, and not only that but I don't even get the messages of any proposed post. I would have put that thread on there immediately if I had. Â Again; the thread is not the issue. Why is the forum restricted at all? You are the moderator there. You've always proclaimed that you are pro-access. How can that be when you restrict access to an access forum? Quote
olyclimber Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Yes Matt. Even though you said you don't set the permissions on that forum and you have nothing to do with how they are set, so how come you set the permission that way? And why have you caused all these problems in the Middle East, anyway? Quote
olyclimber Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 obviously it must be vast right wing idiocy. Quote
archenemy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Aren't there a number of forums that need moderator approval before the post is made public? I am just not understanding the anger behind all this... Quote
olyclimber Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Its the liberals, archenemy. The liberals. Mattp, etc. But don't worry, Fairweather is on the case. Quote
jon Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Fairweather, I actually have great news for you! And it's not that you are saving a ton of money on your car insurance.... tin foil hats actually AMPLIFY government mind control signals!!! Â http://www.shortnews.com/shownews.cfm?id=51193 Quote
jon Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Â Actually the real reason why posting is restricted to that forum is because the posts show up on the front page and we wanted to avoid any spray being on there. Quote
Fairweather Posted November 15, 2005 Author Posted November 15, 2005 I would think that if any forum on this site needed to be "open", it would be access. But it would seem that, once again, it is access that needs to be controlled. Â Congrats. You now have a website - frequented by public land managers I might add - that can be used to promote (or limit) ideas, opinions, and concerns regarding access to our mountains. Who decides what concerns these land managers get to see? You? Your mods? Is this site open forum or advocacy? Â Later. Quote
foraker Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Jeebus, F. Do you go lookin' for things to make you angry or does pretty much everything make you angry? If some group of people made me as angry as this place obviously makes you, I'd kind of think avoiding the place would be high on my list of things to do. Unless you're a tad masochistic.... Â Irritable Male Syndrome, mayhap? Quote
foraker Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 What really amazes me is that you seem ready to dump a shitload of vitriole on someone for a presumed slight that you *think* abrades your delicate political sensibilities, yet you don't seem to have much of a reaction to the selling of our wilderness and public lands to the highest bidder. Maybe you ought to divert some of that energy into taking the administration and Congress to task, rather than abusing climbing site administrators. Of course, it's much easier to do the latter, I suppose. Quote
