Blake Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Check out this great video to finally answer the all time skier's question. http://www.tahoebackcountry.net/video/images/atanon786.wmv Quote
Couloir Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 That was brilliant. I was sold long ago and have never looked back. Quote
AlpineK Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I tele skied for one season, but I was in college and I was going through an experimental phase. I eventually figured why reinvent the wheel. I could already ski, so next season I had my AT gear with me, and I never looked back. Quote
Greta Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 You guys are all fags. Sounds like the beginnings of a randonee support group for pussies. Have fun sucking each others Quote
AlpineK Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I know your bitter because your bindings keep breaking, but try not to take it out on others. Quote
crazyjizzy Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I was in college and I was going through an experimental phase. We don't want to hear about your Quote
Greta Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I know your bitter because your bindings keep breaking, but try not to take it out on others. You know, you're right, K. Im sorry guys. It'll all be ok as long as you all play it safe and keep your heels secure. Quote
hubris Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Clicking the mouse with his birkenstocks was awsome!! That was money!!! Quote
crazy_t Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 (edited) Like he says in the film, he'll still tele powder. He hasn't forsaken 1 for the other, like he says he's just expanded his options. There's no debate, no right or better choice. I make my own choices, usually tele, because I generally enjoy it more. Multi-day trips with a pack, crappier conditions- usually AT. But you never know. "Not looking back"? "Final answer"? Come on, spare me. Just do what you want. Either way, I'm looking down the fall line ) Edited November 13, 2005 by crazy_t Quote
Greta Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 There's no debate, no right or better choice. Nope, sorry. Tele is synonomous with truth. Always the better choice, under all circumstances with no exceptions. Quote
crazy_t Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 hey, thanks for clearing that up for me. Quote
Greta Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Yeah, its ok. Most people feel really stupid for a while when someone points this out to them. Dont beat yourself up too much, though, you'll get over it eventually. If not, you'll most likely resort to AT. Not to worry though, there is an extensive support group in the making (see previous posts). Quote
crazy_t Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 wow, it's good to know that one way or the other everything's going to be alright. I was getting pretty worked up, now I can go back to just enjoying skiing. Quote
Greta Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Im really proud of you. Great strides were made today....now go out and get 'em tiger. Quote
crazy_t Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 And great turns were made yesterday. On tele ) Quote

Billygoat Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I don't seem to have any problems busting out the crux alpine turn on my tele gear, especially in my plastic boots And now that I have monster fat boards I can ride like snowboarders in the blower. My noodle farming Tele Soul is quite intact I've got the best of all worlds And I still have my skinnys on three pins and leathers for the occasional light tour Funny fuckin' film tho Three Quote
EWolfe Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Uncage your heel and UNCAGE YOUR SOUL? Quote
robert_Nielsen Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 " I even bought a carabiner, cause it looked cool".... What a hoot! Some serious stereotyping going on there, eh? Glad you posted that Blake. I was venting the age old debate on another place just now.....That video got me looking at the hills, wondering when I can get up there, kick some bushes, and set a trough through unconsolidated snow.... cheers bob Quote
Blake Posted November 14, 2005 Author Posted November 14, 2005 I thought he'd pronounce it like Colin did at rope-up: "ker-AHB-in-ER" good stuff. Quote
