bunglehead Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Anybody else seen this yet? Crazy shit. Katrina Journal Quote
sobo Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 (edited) Link works fine on my PC. Click the right-hand button at "Play" to make it go. It's 197 shots, so it takes a little while to get through. Did you notice that everything was gone/looted from the pharmacy? Edited September 9, 2005 by sobo Quote
Billygoat Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Hmmm, it didn't work on my wireless connection but when I re-attached my ethernet cable it did. Any clues on that? Looking at the pics... Quote
sobo Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Not from me... some web will have to weigh in on that. Quote
knotzen Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Excellent photographs. More revealing than any I've seen yet. Quote
sobo Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Excellent photographs. More revealing than any I've seen yet. It would seem, from what I've heard on the radio/seen on the telly, that this photojournalist was not in the East Quarter of the city. Quote
Kitergal Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 OMG..those are amazing. Thanks for posting! Quote
ChrisT Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Not a photojournalist; just some Nicaraguan guy who was working at a hotel in NO. Wish I knew what the camera was. Quote
bunglehead Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 Uhh, I'm guessing a Kodak of some sort. Quote
Billygoat Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 great reporting. better than anything I have seen so far. Quote
sobo Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Not a photojournalist; just some Nicaraguan guy who was working at a hotel in NO. Wish I knew what the camera was. I knew he wasn't a professional photojournalist per se, but it seemed the best way to describe him at the time. He took pictures, then described his experiences. Where did you see that he's Nicaraguan? I missed that part. Quote
ChrisT Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 well if you read through the captions he mentions that some people (friends? family?) from Nicaragua saw him on tv. Also I deduced from his name, the less thanperfect English and his picture near the end that he must be from Nicaragua. Quote
archenemy Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Funny, I assumed the photographer was a woman. Doesn't matter, just kinda funny. Quote
Kitergal Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Seriously....I got that it was a dude..and a nicaraguan dude! Hmm..was this some sort of test on how observant we all are?? If so...I WIN!! I WIN!! Quote

Yah, I didn't have time to read all the captions first time through, so I just went through the pictures. I have now gone back and see again the pic of him reclining in the candlelight of their dark apartment. I guess I could have also deduced that Alvaro is a masculine name... archenemy Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 You are right, that is a self portrait. That is the best photo collection and story I have seen yet on the storm. Outstanding and real. Quote
