Jens
I know it has been discussed on this board before, but why as of late are more folks grabbing summit reigisters and either pitching them off a cliff or just stealing them? I know some of us don't like to sign them but they are important for historical reasons. In the last 2 years a lot of them are disappearing. RideT61
I agree, I hate it when people steal or "dispose" of summit registers. I love being able to look and see the names and dates of climbers who came before me. Personally, I think it is pretty cool when you see Tom Hornbein's, Pete Shoening or Fred Beckey's name in a summit register from a climb that occured years ago. Stefan
If people are chucking them, then they are being quiet about it. Â The NCNP has stopped taking summit registers. They used to eliminate them if they were found. Â I know one person who has been putting up registers every time she gets to a new summit or one that deserves one. She amazes me. Dru
What about people that write false names in summit registers? I've seen Reinhold Messner and Bono signed in together on a few summits
chirp
Going undercover. Alot of summits now have a Geocache someplace on or near the summit. Alot more difficult to find but a record of sorts non the less.

magellan
I've noticed, too. Nothing on Baring the other day. What gives? I'm thinking about packing registers when I go. I like 'em!
