cj001f Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I've met several expatriot software developers. They were born in the US, educated in the US, now travel and develop software in the 3rd world. Not new. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 Hmmm cj not sure if you get the point but here is some help ==> proposed hourly wage = $8.30. Cheers Quote
Peter_Puget Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 absolutley..I posted an article a few months ago showing how some Indian hospitals were attracting US pts due to low costs. Quote

cj001f Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Hmmm cj not sure if you get the point but here is some help ==> proposed hourly wage = $8.30. Cheers That's what they work for, well slightly more. Their cost structure is substantially less than a US based developer, but they provide much better value than most other offshore houses. I do get the point. What value do you provide to the global economy PP? Quote

cj001f Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Getting closer..they are becoming indistinguishable from local labor. Bullshit. They are only indistinguishable for morons in management and accounting (not to mention libertarian wonks) who assume all goods are fungible - a fallacy bred of ignorance. Quote

No, I never assumed there was any difference besides quality of work and prices that differentiated us vs. them. There are substantial societal benefits to having industry in the USA. Keep believing in the Potemkin revolution PP! Quote
