alpine_alibi Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 I am moving to a state with no climbing what-so-ever! As such, I have a room full of gear that I need to sell. Most everything is in good to great shpae. The list of what I have is far to big to post here, but the following is a sample of brand names and equipment: Black Diamond: Ice scres, cams, nuts, Cobra ice tools, crampons, leather and plastic boots(sz. 11.5/45.5), and aid gear (pins, hooks, etriers) Marmot: Col sleeping bag (-20 F used on Denali once), Windshirt, down parka. Arcteryx: Alpha SV pants and Beta Parka, scholler bibs MSR: XGK and Whisperlite stoves, stainless cookware Petzl: Headlamps and helmets Thule: gutter mount towwers and bars, powderhound, and 1600 box (3 months old) Softride: hitch-mount bike rack Plus many tents, backpacks, sleeping bags (down & synthetic), goretex gloves, over boots, Thermarests, etc. You get the point. Drop me a line if you are looking for something in particular or are curious about prices. I need to unload all of this so everything will be sold at incredibly low prices. It hurts to get rid of it, but I won't be able to use it again. Contact me at alpine_alibi@yahoo.com Quote

olyclimber Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 I think the guy is just busy. I got a response. I'm meeting him on Saturday to buy a few things. Quote
Bogen Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Who the hell sells all their gear cuz they move? Ask the guy a few questions Oly, the stuff is probably hot. Quote
mec Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 It may be hot, but the dude is not a complete idiot (or has a climbing partner friend). Normal people don't know what etriers are. Quote
olyclimber Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 He is legit. He works for a guiding service in Bellingham. Out of respect for his privacy I'm not going to say anymore, but I did the homework to make sure I'm not buying any stolen gear. Quote
alpine_alibi Posted May 8, 2005 Author Posted May 8, 2005 So here is the deal. I have accepted a position teaching highschool mathematics in Hawaii. "Everheard of a vacation?" yeah, but have you ever heard of having to support a family! Furthermore, I have been climbing for over 10 years and have worked for a Northwest guide service for the last 7 years. So NO, this gear isn't hot. As for what is left of MY gear, most of the hardware is gone (I still have some odds and ends like Tiblocs, hotwire carabiners, ascenders, BD icescrews, etc), but I still have a few sleeping bags (a zero synthetic, 20 synthetic, and a -20 Dryloft Down) and a couple pair of water ice crampons. As far as clothing goes, I have some scholler tops and bottoms, a down jacket, and a Polargaurd jacket. So for those few of you who have troubles reading, if you have any further questions, or want to know specifics, email me at alpine_alibi@yahoo.com I have been getting about 20-40 emails a day so be patient. I will respond as soon as I can. Quote
