Scott_J Posted November 27, 2002 Share Posted November 27, 2002 Someone asked about the other alternatives to salt. Alaska tried some type of liquid anti-freeze stuff in the late 80's. It worked just like salt. It melted the roadway and then re-froze into a slick mess. The other added benefit it offered was a gooey sticky like feel to your auto, that was nearly impossible to wash off in one washing. Thanks Trask, I sent the state my opinion.
