specialed Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Just a head's up: there's mad trash b/w Dana's Arch and those new sport route's to the left (Sidewinder area). Quote
DCramer Posted April 29, 2005 Author Posted April 29, 2005 (edited) The State Parks guys were working yesterday to clear brush along the RR tracks. They may be there again today. Here is a picture taken yesterday at "ground zero" at the base of the upper Wall - Directly above (well 300' above) the trash is this great knob pitch - Edited April 29, 2005 by DCramer Quote
mec Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 I appreciate you all pulling this together. if I did not have a previous engagement, I would be there helping out. And no I will not be out climbing. Now who would haul their rear window to the base of the upper wall? Even from the top, isn't the road a way's back? Quote
DCramer Posted April 29, 2005 Author Posted April 29, 2005 It's the side window of a canopy. The other side is just out of the frame. A piece of the canopy wall is in the Lower Wall parking lot. If you look closely you can see that the base of the dead tree near the top of the picture has been cut with a saw. The tree was cut and then thrown from the top of the wall. It is possible to drive almost to the top of the Upper Wall with the right rig. Quote
bigwalling Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 About a month ago someone chucked off a really good size tree and it landed about 15 feet from me. Every day I am up there stuff has came down. Inculding week days. Quote
DCramer Posted April 29, 2005 Author Posted April 29, 2005 If someone was ambitious and has a chainsaw there are two trees (c. 15” diameter) across the Upper Wall trail that could be cut. Quote
ScottP Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 If someone was ambitious and has a chainsaw there are two trees (c. 15” diameter) across the Upper Wall trail that could be cut. If someone was ambitious and had a chain saw, they could block the road so less stuff would rain down from the top of the Upper Wall. (just kidding) Quote
bigwalling Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 someone else bring the saw if they want. ScottP... that wouldn't do shit. I have been up there and watched them cut shit with chain saws. Quote
MisterMo Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 someone else bring the saw if they want. ScottP... that wouldn't do shit. I have been up there and watched them cut shit with chain saws. I don't think much short of land mines & machine guns is going to stop the boys up there in ORV heaven.......I'd be happy just to stop the small fraction of pigs. Is someone bringing a chain saw? I might just wander down with mine if not (for the blowdowns on the trail). Quote
ScottP Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 someone else bring the saw if they want. ScottP... that wouldn't do shit. I have been up there and watched them cut shit with chain saws. Hence the "(just kidding)" part of my post. Quote
