I want to find out more about the climbing scene in that area. I know about NEice.com, but I'm not an ice climber. Any first hand info would be great too. Thank you! Actually there is a pretty big network on Rockclimbing.com out there - at least in season. Off season the easiest way to meet people is to head to one of the gyms . . . Double_E Posted January 17, 2005 Share Posted January 17, 2005 no first-hand info, but i have known a lot of dedicated climbers who were from New England I climbed Glacier Peak with a couple dudes from NH actually. a high school buddy of mine went to college in Maine. he was always talking about all the sweet climbing he was doing up there. plenty of both rock and ice. .... but if you don't like ice climbing, you'd better learn to like it if you're moving there .... from what i hear it's some of the best in the lower 48!! and the skiing sucks, so what else ya gonna do in the winter? My impression is that the AMC is mostly made up of hikers and backpackers. If you want a good look at the New England climbing scene, get a copy of the DVD "Uncommon Ground".
