Bill_Simpkins Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 I agree. Just get the hotties in there. No really, no slabs in the gym. Gyms are for getting strong. However, slab climbing isn't exactly a relaxing endeavor. Strong legs and knees with micro-pinching and pushing power are needed for the hard stuff. Unless they have real rock in the gym for slabs, I wouldn't be interested. The cool thing about slabs in the randomness. Putting set places to put your hands and feet wouldn't be the point would it? A gyms forte is steep routes. Quote
RuMR Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 slab in the gym? so bunch of you overweight fat fucks can get up on something without being loughed at? sorry dr flash, but gym is for picking up chicks not for betting strong. whatever bob...the gym can get you a HELLUVA lot harder than climbing outside can, especially if you are stuck w/ a job etc. Case in point...how did Gullich get strong enough for Action Directe? By training in a gym at a university... Quote
COL._Von_Spanker Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 (edited) They also used to have one at the sporting goods store across from northgate years ago. Ideal gym would have 55 gallon chalk pots. Seriously though, it would have adjustable crack a la danimal's home gym. edit: I meant the skihill thing. Edited January 18, 2005 by COL._Von_Spanker Quote
Matt_Anderson Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 (edited) My dream gym would be close enough so that I could just slip on my fuzzy sheepskin slippers, walk in the back yard and climb with a few of my closes friends. I Think it would look a little like this: http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/showphoto.php?photo=9943&size=big&sort=1&cat=507 http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/showphoto.php?photo=9942&sort=1&size=big&cat=507 http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/showphoto.php?photo=9944&sort=1&size=big&cat=507 http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/showphoto.php?photo=9941&sort=1&size=big&cat=507 and, of course, a little storage/workspace for making holds and doing other little household chores . . . http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/showphoto.php?photo=9945&sort=1&size=big&cat=507 Edited March 16, 2005 by Matt_Anderson Quote
chesterboo Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 I would be in heaven if there was a gym close to my house. Quote
Steddy Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 Hey Matt - you're one letter away from playing with your CLOSET friends. real risky mentioning your sheepskin slippers here, too. Quote
pope Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 no its because it is hard to make an artificial hold small enough to make an indoor slab climb interesting. even most jibs are too big. How do you spell N-E-R-D? Quote
Figger_Eight Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 www.thecircuitgym.com Ummm...nice chicken wire? Quote
