Thinker Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 I'm outta here! Got a shiny new job in Salt Lake City, the movers are coming Tuesday to pack me up, and I'll be on the road for a few days visiting friends between here and there. I plan on having plenty of room to host guests, so if anyone wants a place to crash when you come over to enjoy some of the finest snow on earth then look me up. Hopefully I'll have time for one last Pub Club. As a side note, check out this early season BC skiing in Southern Idaho: http://www.mountainmurph.com/VIDEOS/Bruneau2LQ.wmv http://www.mountainmurph.com/VIDEOS/BruneauLQ2.wmv http://www.mountainmurph.com/VIDEOS/Sahara.wmv Quote
klenke Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 I'll be at Tuesday's PC to see you off (kick you in the ass). Good on ya! Quote
wayne Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 Bon voyage. Lots of fun stuff there, better than Texas! Quote
mneagle Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Drop me a PM when you get here if you are interested in doing any ice climbing or back country skiing this winter. No ice yet but I got some nice turns in on north facing slopes today. Quote
skyclimb Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Have a good trip, Climb Hard! If you need a partner who is fun, and experienced Thadsboner on the board is also located in SLC... Quote
leejams Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Dave , well hell if ya gotta move I can't think of a better place to head off to. Thanks for all of your guidance along my limited climbing career. You were a most excellent mentor and well appreciated. When you get settled in shoot me a PM with your contact info (computer crashed and lost it) as I may take you up on your offer. And of course if you ever head back this way I as well have a place you can stay. Cheers and good luck to ya. Quote
JayB Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Dave: It was nice to have met you, and I'm glad you scored a job in Utah instead of Texas! Here's to hoping you hit the mountains hard and post an update once in a while. Quote

ken4ord Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Congrats on the new job, SLC is pretty cool place for outdoors stuff, (though not as cool as the PNW). Make sure and get out during the winter and enjoy some of that Wasatch goodness. Hopefully see off this Tuesday. Quote
Thinker Posted November 15, 2004 Author Posted November 15, 2004 Thanks for all the wishes-well. I'll definitely hook up with you SLC cc.comers soon, for a beer at least while I'm getting settled. I'm looking for a POS car stereo for the road trip. See http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/threadz/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=413899 Also looking to trade a couple of mp-3 files to get some fresh road-trippin tunes. PM me. Quote

Thinker Posted November 15, 2004 Author Posted November 15, 2004 I'll definitely hook up with you SLC cc.comers soon, for a beer at least Beer? In Utah? They served up some fine micro brews during the Olympics a few years back, and even had a reasonable selection of Single Malts at the liquor store. It ain't the Utah your polygamist lovin' mama told you about anymore. Quote
Dru Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 I think the "micro" in those MicroBrews was the alcohol content. 3.2% Then again I've heard of "Polygamist Porter - You Can't Have Just One" Quote
Thinker Posted November 16, 2004 Author Posted November 16, 2004 stop down sometime and try one out......... Quote
thelawgoddess Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 It ain't the Utah your polygamist lovin' mama told you about anymore. well, park city ain't anyway. but at least you're gonna be close to some grand skiing. i've heard the bc there is pretty nice!!! Quote
catbirdseat Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Good luck Dave. Unfortunately, I can't make PC, on account of my jazz band. Maybe you can get one of the guys to drive so you can get a good buzz on. Somehow I don't think we've heard the last of you. Quote
