rbw1966 Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Eric--give a call to US Outdoor store. They had Kaukulators there on sale not too long ago. Maybe they gots your size. Quote
ivan Posted October 14, 2004 Author Posted October 14, 2004 seems like the hi-top shoe done gone outta style...i've never worn them. do they suck or something? they seem more ideal for alpine, but perhaps less good for masturating...er, cragg'n. Quote
tomtom Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Or Boreal Ballet gold. I got mine thru feathered friends. I liked them better than the mega which they also sell. I have a pair of these forsale: size US 11 1/2; Euro 45 1/4. Fresh resole from Ramudas. $50 Quote
ivan Posted October 14, 2004 Author Posted October 14, 2004 did i not mention my feet are clown-sized? i think i had size 11 feet when i was in 6th grade. Quote
Ireneo_Funes Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 A buddy of mine has a really old pair of rock shoes with full-on hightops, like Chuck Taylors. I think that they might have been made by Vasque? He never gets his ankles scraped up. Â Of course, I'm pretty sure that they don't make 'em anymore, but frankly I don't understand why... Quote
rbw1966 Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Kaukulators cover the ankle. Eric--did you call up US outdoor? They had them there for 99 clams Quote
Squid Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 also check out the LaSportiva Megas. clownshoes. Quote

ivan Posted October 14, 2004 Author Posted October 14, 2004 also check out the LaSportiva Megas. clownshoes. think these maybe what i have to go with...i'm kinda pissed at la sportiva though as the last 2 pairs of shoes i had from them all did the same wierd shit, where the entire lower soul delaminated, trashing the entire front toe area of the shoe, leather n' all so as to not be resolable Quote
rbw1966 Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 The older model kaukulators were straight-up rock shoes. Bold colors too. Quote
lummox Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 i think the lasportiva mega is the only overtheankle climbing shoe made now. Quote
willstrickland Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 i looked at a pic of those on the 'net and thought they looked more like boots than climbing shoes. anyone used them and can compare? Â I had a pair of what you have in the pic there. Those are not regular Kaukulators, they are the Kaukulator Dru model. The first Kauks were blue, the second gen were that brown color. So imagine that shoe in the pic, but with a regular smooth rock shoe sole, and you have the reg Kauk. Â They replaced it with the Mega. The midsole in the megas and the focus breaks down too easily IMO. My pair of focus were fried after the first resole. Â As far as the Drus, I hated mine. I was using them as an aid route shoe, and they weren't comfy enough for long aid routes (probably because I tried to fit them tight enough to climb decently), nor did they climb well enough to make up for it. A compromise shoe that didn't do anything worth a shit. The upper/fit is exactly the same as the reg Kaukulator. Quote

DHL will be kind enough to pay the fee for you, then send you a bill for the 4% plus their $5 handling fee.  Back to big shoes - 5.10 makes most of their shoes in size fricken huge. Quote
