Bellingham to Canada?

Are there any good climbing adventures to be done in a day, from Bellingham to the other side of the border? I could also do 1 1/2 day trips, i.e. drive in the night before, alpine start from the car, and go all day.

Just looking for ideas, and Beckey's bible doesn't help me with driving times...

Not really what you are looking for, but I am in bellingham too, and I'm lookign for people who actually are motivated to get out and climb some stuff. Seems like this place is full of boulder-loving hippies, not mountain climbers. Anyways, I've got a full rack, PM or email if you need a partner.

110 miles, 2.5 hrs Yak Peak/Needle Peak/Coquihalla

 

115 miles, 3 hrs Anderson River Peaks (need a key)

 

70 miles 2 hours Slesse/Rexford TH

 

80+ miles 3+ hrs Old Settler (recently improved road access?)

 

93 miles 2 hours Squamish

Check out Alpine Select from Elaho Publishing. It was based on weekend trips from Vancouver, so if you are willing to get up a bit earlier, then you should have a good idea of what can be done.

plus husume (sp) on the top of black comb glacier- best mixed climbing around. access to joffree isn't bad either. tantlus range isn't far from b-ham. 120 for heli ride to red tit call.
