jjd Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 is it better with raw garlic or with garlic cooked in olive oil? It's better not eaten at all. Hummus tastes like ass. Sweaty, no shower for 2 weeks in Death Valley in July post Richard Simmons dump nasty ass. Don't do it!! Save yourself the torture!! Quote
badvoodoo Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 More for us, sucka. You want ass food, try a Big Mac. Quote
willstrickland Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 Use garlic oil instead of putting the cloves in the hummus. I keep a bottle of olive oil with 6 or 8 cloves in it. You should be putting some olive oil in the hummus anyway, and garlic oil works great for stir fry as well. Quote
Dru Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 you don't need to put olive oil in the hummus. it just makes it greasy. put the whole cloves in. will aint no chef Quote
lummox Posted March 25, 2004 Author Posted March 25, 2004 oh yeah. raw was pretty spicy. and with some fresh pita i made. damn good. i await the garlicky farts. Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 The hardest part is getting the texture right. After cooking the beans, let them sit over night in fridge. Grind them up the next day. Quote
Dru Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 The hardest part is getting the texture right. After cooking the beans, let them sit over night in fridge. Grind them up the next day. but then you have to wait a day to eat hummus what difference does it make if done with cold beans im gonna try that just to see if it works. Quote
willstrickland Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 I say just go to WinCo bulk bins, get some powdered hummus mix, label it as cornmeal, pay $0.25 lb for it, and stir some up in 30 seconds. Quote
Dru Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 powdered hummus, powdered cardboard, whats the difference that said - hummus alternative boil chickpeas almost dry then drain. HOT - in bowl - chickpeas chopped parsley garlic salt diced tomatoes plain yoghurt 1 tsp mayonnaise balsamic vinegar curry powder eat immediately Quote
