Dru Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 so the boulderfield we were working near was just so damn impressive i had to climb something this tower seemed like a "real summit" and had cracks..... the moral of the story is that what i did was not WCB approved. caulk boots suck for granite climbing. in fact i ended up downclimbing barefoot. i don't know how to rate this ascent so i won't. just like chris sharma the cracks are some of the nicest granite i have ever touched though. chucK Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 Looks like a nice top out. Did you blow some dope before the horrendous scary barefoot downclimb? Quote
Dru Posted March 12, 2004 Author Posted March 12, 2004 i grabbed the tree to top out and i didnt have any dope, except for the dopey timber cruisers who were supposed to be spotting but were too busy drinking lucky lager Quote

ScottP Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 Those cracks look pretty wide toward the top. Quote
Dru Posted March 12, 2004 Author Posted March 12, 2004 hand size is wide? mostly you cant even see my route this is just the side facing the road. the rest of the old cutblock is too bushy to take the picture through Quote
ScottP Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 I guess I missed where you mentioned hand size... Quote
Dru Posted March 12, 2004 Author Posted March 12, 2004 i didnt mention it but the cracks are not wide looking even in the photo. maybe your optometrist can prescribe something to help you with that. Quote
Off_White Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 Yeah Scott, what you missed is that the whole thing is much smaller than you think. Quote
Dru Posted March 12, 2004 Author Posted March 12, 2004 the blueberry bushes on the summit are a pretty good scale. the whole thing is the size of siwash rock, plus or minus a few m. Quote
ScottP Posted March 13, 2004 Posted March 13, 2004 Please ignore my attempt to appreciate your adventure. No insults were intended. Quote
Dru Posted March 13, 2004 Author Posted March 13, 2004 Ok you win.... those cracks are really chimneys and the tree on top is a 500 year old Dawn redwood. Quote
