Oh, thanks for setting me straight, chicken little. I thought it was just Plam Springs and the surrounding desert cities area. The fires are unfortunate, because so many homes are burning and people have been killed. In scope they're really not much different than fires in BC this summer and you weren't all up in arms about them. This sort of thing happens every few years in CA when there is the right mix of santa ana winds and dry temps. Later this winter there will likely be a lot of rain and massive mudslides with homes falling off into the ocean after being reclaimed by the sea. Stay tuned to your news station for CA devastation 2003/2004. i actually was all 'up in arms' and shit bout the kowloona burn. forest mismanagement or dourght or whatever. that community took a heavy hit. the socal fires concern me more tho cuz my family and friends have been affected. i got through to my sister this morning and she got access back to her neighborhood. most houses were okay. a neighbors yard was burnt and smoldering. she said it was wierd cuz here is this smoldering fire but no one around trying to put it out. fire suppression resources are just spread too thin. i havent heard bo0ut my aunt and uncles house or my cousins in san diego. theyve been evacuated. cant get through on the phones anymore. 'lines busy'. Quote
Necronomicon Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 CALIFORNIA DEVASTATION 2003-2004!!!! "This is NEWSTIPS, live on the scene. As you can see from the pictures of the dead babies, and the little kid shreiking tears over his mother's corpse, things are bad down here. It appears as if the hell-spawned reek-mouthed Angle of Death has spread his wings over Southern California. It's aweful. Just AWEFUL. If I didn't feel morally compelled to do my job, I'd be back home safe with my family, instead of exploiting these poor people's misery in order to gain advertising dollars. Quote

Don't know about that one, but this song by TDK's seems apropos for you, Dave..... Too Drunk To Fuck Went to a party I danced all night I drank 16 beers And I started up a fight But now I'm jaded You're out of luck I'm rolling down the stairs Too drunk to fuck Too drunk to fuck Too drunk to fuck Too drunk To fuck I'm too drunk, too drunk, too drunk To fuck I like your stories I like your gun Shooting out cop tires Sounds like loads and loads of fun But in my room Wish you were dead You ball like the baby In Eraserhead Too drunk to fuck Too drunk to fuck Too drunk To fuck It's all I need right now Too drunk to fuck Too drunk to fuck Too drunk to fuck Too drunk To fuck I'm sick soft gooey and cold Too drunk to fuck I'm about to drop My head's a mess The only salvation is I'll never see you again You give me head It makes it worse Take out your fuckin' retainer Put it in your purse Too drunk to fuck You're too drunk to fuck Too drunk To fuck It's all I need right now Oh baby I'm melting like an ice cream bar Oh baby And now I got diarrhea Too drunk to fuck Yeah, Yeah Yeah, Yeah Yeah, Yeah Oooohhh... I had family evacuated and they called their house periodically to check whether the answering machine picked up. If it didn't they figured their house was gone. Fortunately they were spared. Quote

Off_White Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 Yeah, my Dad and his wife and my sister and her three kids are among the evacuated in San Diego, though it sounds like their houses survived. There was a full on firestorm in the canyon across the street from Dad's house. You know its a serious deal when my father is camped out in my sister's grotty half demolished project house in another part of the city. I'll wager that Santee Boulders and Mission Gorge, the places I learned to climb, are well crisped as well. Quote
Dru Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 CHUCK D: Burn Hollywood burn I smell a riot Goin' on first they're guilty now they're gone Yeah I'll check out a movie But it'll take a Black one to move me Get me the hell away from this TV All this news and views are beneath me Cause all I hear about is shots ringin' out So I rather kick some slang out All right fellas let's go hand out Hollywood or would they not Make us all look bad like I know they had But some things I'll never forget yeah So step and fetch this shit For all the years we looked like clowns The joke is over smell the smoke from all around Burn Hollywood burn ICE CUBE: Ice Cube is down with the PE Now every single bitch wanna see me Big Daddy is smooth word to muther Let's check out a flick that exploits the color Roamin' thru Hollywood late at night Red and blue lights what a common sight Pulled to the curb gettin' played like a sucker Don't fight the power ... the mother fucker BIG DADDY KANE: As I walk the streets of Hollywood Boulevard Thinkin' how hard it was to those that starred In the movies portrayin' the roles Of butlers and maids slaves and hoes Many intelligent Black men seemed Io look uncivilized when on the screen Like I guess I figure you can play some jigaboo On the plantation, what else can a * do And Black women in this profession As for playin' a lawyer, out of the question For what they play Aunt Jemima is the perfect term Even if now she got a perm So let's make our own movies like Spike Lee Cause the roles being offered don't strike me There's nothing that the Black man could use to earn Burn Hollywood burn Quote
