sobo Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 Ice climbing guide I know, it was too easy, but I just couldn't resist... Quote
Dru Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 when the book project was at Mountaineers Books, Sean sent in a set of photographs to the editor separately from all the others (hundreds) that we had gathered from the ice climbing community over the last few years. His express wish was that they were to be considered for the cover only. This is why there are no other photos from Sean in the guide. and you could never talk to them? this sounds like there is an interesting story or head butting behind it all - dish! Quote
BigWave Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 "and you could never talk to them? this sounds like there is an interesting story or head butting behind it all - dish! Ditto Dru. Thanks for the story. Answers my question. Bring on the Artic air! Quote

We just didn't know about the route until it was too late to add. There are actually about a half dozen routes that this happened with. Rest assured we will get the info and post it on the Washington Ice website that we are putting togther for current info and updates. Jason Quote
JayB Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 Cool. When are you planning to activate the site? Quote
Jason_Martin Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 We're working on it now. It will be up and running throughout the ice season with updates, corrections, access issues and new routes as the information comes to us. We will definately have everything on the site working in a month or so. Hopefully sooner. Jason Quote

If you really must know, the web site is currently in a kernel debugger undergoing some ...uh ....testing. Yeah, testing! It should be up in bits and pieces over the next few weeks/months. http://www.wastateice.net/ Alex Quote

sobo Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 Just got my copy of "The Guide" yesterday. Schweeet! Bring on the bone-chillin'!! Quote
Jens Posted October 22, 2003 Posted October 22, 2003 Alex and Jason did a first class job on the guide and definitely did their homework. I wonder how they got Jeff Renner to talk about what makes good ice conditons? I know Jeff has done some climbing-- perhaps a cc'er has tied in with him. Ps. Tom Brokaw and the Pope are or "were" also climbers. Quote
