glacierdog Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 So I went to one of the many clubs here in germany last night. An unbelieveable number of very hot college age women got half naked on the dance floor. 1100-400 this continued without stop. Damn the language barrier! But I reckon I had a pretty good time anyway. Scott_J Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 Come on all you trollers out there. Help out the GlacierDog with a few key phrases while he is in Germany!!!! Favorite Beer/favorite club or pub/etc Quote
Beck Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 Gemutlecheit means excellent! Â say it like a dude from california, Â alles gut, machs gut, same type of thing.... Â Ich bin ein alpinist should hit the mark, but i don't think alpinist is german word... Â Sie muchten Wandel mit mich? would you wander the mountians with me? Â Â and sounds like fondle, so you can segue into that if she warms up to you... Â hope those help bro- Â Â and a quick quote about fate "Herrgott wurfelt nicht" god doesn't play dice, by Einstein, a german... it should explain the mountian climbing thing with a dismissive wave of the hand while uttering this one and help impress the ladies. Â although bastard pidgin german, it works if you play dumb and don't talk much. hope these are helpful for you, it landed me a few fraulein (and the german girls are so much more liberated about sex then our repressed american ladies, lovely as they are....) Â Quote
Beck Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 oh, and, "Beste ist besten, am bestem." Best is best cheap. Quote

RobBob Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 gemutlich means something like 'cozy,' and gemutlicheit means a cozy ambiance... Quote
Sphinx Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 Beck said: Sie muchten Wandel mit mich? would you wander the mountians with me?en our repressed american ladies, lovely as they are....) You need to work on your German there, Beck. Â I think what you're trying to say would translate as: Moechten sie mit mir Wandeln? Much more polite, and grammatically correct. Still, there's nothing about mountains in that phrase. "Wandeln" means to walk, but has a 'strolling' connotation. You 'wandel' on a Sunday afternoon through a pretty field of flowers. You wouldn't 'wandel' through the Pickets. Â Remember, Glacierdog, many Germans have some grasp of English. Quote
Beck Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 ich mochte schnee und berg, ich bin ein hund auf die alps! Â Skilaufing und Schnee schlafen is gut, ober mit du, ich mochte die warmzig alternativ. Â i like snow and water ice, i am a dog of the alps! Â ski touring and sleeping in snow is good, but with you, i like the warmer alternative! Â Â go spring those on the ladies, swinehund! Â Raus raus! auf die haus! Â Up up, out of the house! Quote
RobBob Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 be sure to splice the prefix scheiss- onto any word to make it a negative: Â scheisswetter scheisseschifahren Quote

lI1|1! Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 stick to simple stuff. "Ich bin warm" means "I'm a such a nice guy". Quote
Beck Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 this is all bastard american german, Â i haven't seen the inside of a german classroom for almost twenty years and don't travel enough to keep up on it... Â and wanderlust is a key component of german culture, they love to "walk" many kilometers over the mountains and thru the forests to go see friends in other cities. Quote

That should be 'Ich mag Schnee and die berge' and 'hund' has a very negative connotation. Don't put yourself down. Â Oh, and it should be 'Schilaufen', and 'Schnee schafen' is a meaningless phrase, it's not like 'snow camping'. Â And you confused 'raus' and 'auf'. Raus means 'out', auf means 'up'. Â Tool. Quote
ChrisT Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 "Ich bin heis"= I'm HOT (for you)  "Mir ist warm" = I'm hot/warm  "Boomsen" = to fuck (or it did back in '76) Quote
Beck Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 i think he'll be able to get the idea across now, thanks for all the corrections... Â go hound dawg! Â Â Quote

glacierdog Posted September 9, 2003 Author Posted September 9, 2003 That will definitely help! There are 3 fraulines I'm chasing around with right now that will get a kick out of all this, and probably correct some of it too. "I will fuck you" by the way, is Ich vill dich ficken. That's how it sounds, anyway, I couldn't tell ya if it's spelled right. And "would you like to see my sausage" is Wearst du meinen Bratwurst seein? I'm picking up the good stuff. Quote

Braumeister Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 "Got weiss ich wil kein angel sein" (God knows I don't want to be an angel--I learn my German from Rammstein!) Â My buddy used to know the German phrase for "I have an enormous tapeworm" I'll see if I can order that one up for ya'--should make you some points... Â Â Quote
lummox Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 im thinking that if you in a club with 'An unbelieveable number of very hot college age women got half naked on the dance floor' and you dint get nothing it aint a 'language barrier'. Quote
