Peter_Puget
RumR - The gorge rocks why don't you like it?
RuMR
Gorge is good...but you have to admit that around here, we have nothing like tuff...so why not sample what the area really has to offer...basalt can be found all over wa, but that technical mud compressed peanut butter can only be found there, right? Plus, you got dope footwork! Bonus, 4 letter grades in ability just for showin' up!
Peter_Puget
The basalt in the gorge is soo much better than the WA varieties. But I get what you mean I just liek the gorge

RuMR
for me...the best is to hit smith one day, till tips are toasted then go to the gorge...
Off_White
It's been a long time since I've been there, but also in the gorge's favor is that it tends to be underpopulated. I had a great day there on a weekend a number of years back, while folks were taking numbers and waiting in line all over the tuff. Peter is right too, the basalt in the gorge is better than much of what you find up in WA. Rumr, there is more tuff out along the Owyhee river, isn't there? I suppose Deadman's Summit is too far away to count...
EWolfe
The Tuff is pretty fingery for those not used to it -I'm with Rumr - tweak for a day, then enjoy the quality basalt. For a real adventure, try "Mines of Moira"
