skyclimb Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 Instead of hitting Jefferson up went to flagstone to climb a few pitches. Got up there Friday morning, and started climbing Hydrotube. Got about half way up, and the sky started to spit , but i said fuck it, and kept climbing to the anchors. I then brought my partner up, however there was a small problem, which i knew: 50 meter rope, 60 meter rap. So like stubborn suns o bitches we stood on that ledge for a good two hours, waiting for the rain to stop, and then the rock to dry. When I finally set off for the second pitch, the smearing was Very intense, especially on the runout between the second and third bolt on the low angle slab, but made it to the top with no incident. The sun then came out, and it was a beautiful day. Hydrotube in FUll conditions Quote

skyclimb Posted August 26, 2003 Author Posted August 26, 2003 Yeah, my first time trying to get to flagstone ended in 4 hours of drunken haziness on those damn logging roads. NOTE TO SELF: don't tap the PBR till you arrive at the crag Quote

NOTE TO SELF: don't tap the PBR till you arrive at the crag  Really? That's pretty damn funny. My first time up there was after the floods in 96, there was this truck sized washout before the crag, and I felt compelled, for some reason, to get past it. Of course, the washout extended over halfway across the road, so I had to drive on the side of the hill and what was left of the road. My dog and my wife were so positive I was headed for the Crag in the Sky, they jumped out right as I started inching forward to try it. I only slid down a little. Was kinda sketchy though. And we never did make it that day. Quote
billcoe Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 (edited) So... to follow up on Wayne's Question.. and let me apologise in advance as some of you have already conveyed your thoughts that I'm a FUCKHEAD, , #1 fuckhead in fact, so I'm sure this question is about to cement that ranking: Uhhhh. Â Waynes question again: "Where is Flagstone?" Finn rock, quartz creek rd etc huh? ? Apologising again: Â Flame away now, I'm already sorry I FUCKING ASKED!!!! Â Â Â Â Skyclimb: thanks for sharing the story. Well spoken, sir. Â Edited to correct my speeling. Â Â Edited September 11, 2003 by billcoe Quote

Dude, the reason you were a fuckhead is because you tried to downplay a TR that obviously (and significantly) disturbed the writer, and then tried to one-up it. Asking where a crag is doesn't make you a fuckhead... I have no idea where Flagstone is either. Quote
Sphinx Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 Up Quartz Creek road, for about an hour from the river. Quote
Fejas Posted September 15, 2003 Posted September 15, 2003 Yeah, the river that comes down out of the mountains into the Willamette valley... Quote
