this is the pinnacle of flaming environmentalist rhetoric, but the very worst thing by many orders of magnitude you can do for this planet is have a kid. Every child born increases the overall suffering of our world population. hahaha.gifwave.gif

And just to add an elitist twist to that, it can be argued that you do more damage to the environment if you are procreating in the poorer parts of the world, unknowingly living not only a hard life but one that contributes much more on a prorata basis to environmental degradation than the western world. Maybe they should bring back Indira Gandhi. hahaha.gif

to counter that I will point out that per capita water and energy and resource use is actually highest in the USA: the world can support a lot more people who consume at 3rd world levels than it can if everyone consumes cheeseburger like fat american (where is miloshk to say this?) cheeburga_ron.gif

ooops just checked and canada uses more water and energy per capita than USA! its just there is 10x more of you! the_finger.gif we're number 1 wave.gif

I like Cheeseburgers, and fries too...

I say we just get the big ole grinder fired up and for every person born, one (at random solection) gets tossed into the grinder... do that for a year, and we might have a population we can deal with...

Anybody read the ad from Voice in the Wilderness on the inside cover of this week's Willamette Week? Frightening stuff about the oil. Hopefully it's paranoid and unscientific, otherwise, better start horse shopping and working on that garden, 'cause when the gaz-o-lean runs out, YER ALL GUNNA FRIGGIN' DIE!

Also, somewhere around page 78 or so there's a multi-page snafflehound infestation. Odd.
