b-rock Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 I'm going to be in the area for a show and was looking to camp closer to the climbing than the dirty hippies. Is it still free to camp around there? Pit toilets? Does it get pretty overun when there is a show at the Gorge? Thx. Quote
erik Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 YUP WAAAAY OUTTA CONTROL...DIRTY HIPPIES, THE TOOL OBNOXIOUS PEOPLE.... Â GO TO THE FEATHERS AND CAMP IN THE DUST BOWL BETWEEM THEM AND THE MAIN PARKING LOT...IT IS OBVIOUS.... Â ANOTHER OPTION IS TO DRIVE DOWN TOWARDS THE RIVER AND RIGHT WHEN THE ROCK STOPS, THERE IS A PULL OUT ON THE RIGHT WITH A BOULDER BY IT. YOU CAN LOW KEY CAMP BEHIND THE BOULDER...THOUGH THAT MIGHT BE DIFFERENT DURING CONCERTS. Â Â Quote
Rodchester Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 ERIK is correct. It gets stupid out-a-control. There are some turn offs that might work, but don't expect any room if it is a big concert with lots of hippie wanna-bes. Quote
b-rock Posted July 1, 2003 Author Posted July 1, 2003 Crap. Anything else within a half hours drive or so? We're only a few people so low key camping is an option. Quote
erik Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 NOT REALLY Â WITH FISHING SEASON IN FULL SWING AND WHAT NOT....IT IS GONNA SUCK... Â THO YOU MIGHT CHECK OUT TOWARDS THE YAKIMA RIVER OR SOMETHING....OR OFF THE OLD VANTAGE HWY ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE RIVER..... Â OR CHECK OUT ANCIENT LAKES AREA, JUST NORTH OF THE COULEE, OFF OF 11 ROAD OR H ROAD??? Â Â Quote
Greg_W Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 Best camping I've found at Frenchman's Coulee is to head north and then a bit west, camp in the Icicle Canyon and climb on fucking GRANITE BABY!!!!! Quote
b-rock Posted July 1, 2003 Author Posted July 1, 2003 Word, I was looking at that, might be a long ass drive for the shows but worth it. Quote
Charlie Posted July 1, 2003 Posted July 1, 2003 Go to Ellensburg- find some drunk hottie (you can drop my name if you like) and tell her you've got no place to stay for the night- Quote

I'm getting kind of sick of you- you send me PMs talking about having anal sex with other men (among other things), I'm assuming you are an administrator, since you have obtained the password for, and are able to use, a banned avatar. I think you are a pussy and a hipocrite...do you have the balls to tell us who you really are? I doubt it. Quote

Whoa ... super sketchy down there on the weekends. 14 year old hotties fresh from rehab looking for some action. A bit too green for me, but maybe brock is interested? Quote
b-rock Posted July 15, 2003 Author Posted July 15, 2003 Thanks all for the camping beta, we had a 'n weekend. Believe the rumors, this place is all choss. We were trundled on repeatedly by pigeons. Quote
Charlie Posted July 16, 2003 Posted July 16, 2003 Phish show? I went on Sunday....dirty hippies, good concert...lots of floppy breasts w/o bras...lot's of people on . Quote
Bad[lasma Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 you should have hearded the Phish people on the road down to the river and pushed them all in--it would have been thier first bath in years. I used to work for the Gorge campground--they were the dirtiest people I had ever delt with. If they wanted alternet places to camp I always sent them to the quincy lakes area Quote
bremerton_john Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 What's the latest on needing a Fish and Wildlife sticker for your car when parked at Frenchman's? I got a ticket there a couple years ago for not having one and haven't been back since. Quote
ChocChick Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Yep, you definately need a Fish and Wildlife sticker to climb and camp or even just park at Frenchman's Coulee. The nice thing is that now you can put 2 different license plate numbers on it so it is good for 2 vehicles and you don't have to stick it to your window, but can hang it from your rearview mirror. It is pretty inexpensive to buy as well. I think it was $12. Quote
bremerton_john Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Thanks. They still sell those stickers at Wal-Mart, don't they? Quote
