Stefan Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Is there a good website out there for viewing what a knot looks like and how to tie the knots? Looking for a site that has multiple knot options, and not just climbing types of knots. Just curious what's out there. Quote
ctuller Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 This site is climbing 'centric, but they have a good selection of notes and such. Oz climbing site Quote

snoboy Posted May 17, 2003 Posted May 17, 2003 Actually what you want is called a book. I don't know a great knot website, but The Ashley Book of Knots has over 3900 knots, and how to tie them. Very Quote

For example he has a modified Slippery Hitch for single strand rappels. You just shake the rope and it comes loose. A few of the commonly used climbing knots are found under other names and some are not found, for example the bowline with Yosemite finish. Quote
