Peter_Puget Posted May 14, 2003 Posted May 14, 2003 I'd say Clay is a good test peice for 5.11 crack climbing. Lots of different size cracks and cruxes. Whoever mentioned Old grey Mare is right that is an outstanding route. That 5.11b sport route at the Royal Columns is a good sport climbing test piece for the grade. Good rock, fun crux that is more than one move, nice exposure good bolts. In the Valley Mid-term is a good easy 10 test piece going from tips to chimney in one pitch. Quote

Dru Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 hasnt seen matrix reloaded yet, and is overcompensating Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 Speaking of overcompensating, DFA was out running some errands on Monday, and damned if he didn't see five of them new Hummer H2s within about a 10-block radius. All of them in downtown Portland, all of them spotless. One of them was apparently on its way to a dealer on the back of its very own flatbed tow truck, and was sporting the big (22" or so?) chrome wheels and super-duper-offroad low-profile tires. Even the tie-downs on the back bumper were chrome. So apparently there's a bunch of insecure smalldickers rollin' tuff in the Pearl district in their I-use-more-gas-in-a-mile-than-you-will-all-day-and-I-could-drive-this-thing-straight-up-Mt. Hood-but-I'd-hate-to-sully-my-freshly-waxed-paint-or-get-dirt-on-my-24"-tires Hummers. In case anyone happens to be down there, you know, and wants to put a gallon of gas to good use and serve up some Roast Hummer a la Molotov. Quote
iain Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 but can you PROVE that they don't use it for its intended purpose? who's to say what that mommy behind the wheel of the H2 REALLY does w/her vehicle? Why she very well may be on her way to transport some troops around in bullet-proof luxury and you just made a knee-jerk anti-suv reaction, grass-eating peacenik. for shame. Quote

See you down at Whole Foods Market around noon, then? You wanna bring the gas, or the rags and bottles? Quote

iain Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 they seem to be a hit with the blazers. roommate ran into scottie pippen getting out of his bright yellow troop transport the other day down the street. Quote

Really? Did he dent the shit out of it, or just sort of slide under the thing? Did he damage his own vehicle at all? In any case, it's impressive that he was ballsy enough to take direct guerilla action against a doubtless intoxicated and looking for a brawl Trailblazer and his prized wastewagon. Kudos! Quote
iain Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 actually the blazers are smarter than first realized. the H2 has convenient passenger-side weed stash pockets and cup holders in the back (these are actually bong holders for the blazers, as they seem to take a liking to pepsi cans and have yet to discover the invention of the glass variety).
