Dru Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 recycled feet stop growing around the end of high school I believe? plus or minus. if they start wearing tight rock shoes at a younger age it might permanently stunt their feet Quote
allthumbs Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 Saw a show on TV about Geisha's wrapping their feet when young. It was bizarre how disfigured their feet are and how crippling it was/is. I can't see the harm in youngins' wearing too tight rock shoes occasionally, other than the obvious discomfort and pain associated with the fad. Any long-term problems are negated since they are worn little. Quote
icegirl Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 yes, cheap shoes, but recycling kids shoes (and most "stuff" for that matter) makes sense, and if we can reduce the random amount of trash we produce by passing on used gear vs. throwing it out, we are all better off in the end. Quote
David_Parker Posted June 3, 2003 Author Posted June 3, 2003 So these kid shoes have been in my car for over a week now, still waiting for someone to claim them. 1st come first serve! They are FREE! Quote
icegirl Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 After I move into my new digs, I'd be happy to be the drop zone for the kids shoe trade. That way it takes part of the hassel out of it. Bring shoes, If I have the size you are looking for, great if I don't, just leave your old ones... Quote
Rocksanyone Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 I have a 10yr old girl who is awsome on rock and an 11yr old boy. They are more that ready for shoes. I've been taking them climbing on a weekly basis. Solid on 5.8s. I welcome Climbing parents..What's better than climbing and camping?!?!? Quote
ctuller Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 I've got three pair of shoes (one pair are brand new) that'll work for some kids, as I have pretty small feet. All three are about size 7 or 8 mens (or there abouts). FREE, just as long as they get some good use. Quote

David_Parker Posted June 10, 2003 Author Posted June 10, 2003 OK, back to the top. I just passed on my kids shoes to Jason. I am still looking for some about 8.5 inches long or bigger for my son. PM for my mail address or phone #. Also, I will be in Seattle this afternoon/evening (6-10-03). Quote
