Saturday morning was firm above the magic mile to mid Palmer. Ski crampon firm. Not good skiing conditions. Had to be back by 7:30 so didn't get any further.
Practically speaking the manufacturer would spec it in oz/ft for those markets, and since most retailers just parrot manufacturers numbers, the retailer would just use those.
Static ropes are usually listed as g/m or oz/foot because they are usually sold bulk, i.e by the meter/foot.
Most catalogs I've seen usually compare ropes by the meter or foot though.
Dude, your free to do whatever you want with that hold once you bought it. There's little to nothing patented about rock holds. Nobodies going to sue you.
Yeah you should add some reinforcement - resin's brittle. Experiment. Learn something instead of just buying.
It's an interesting idea. You could make one up at home even (cept CF is like $40/yd last place I went). You'd probably need an AL end caps or something, otherwise it'd be bashed to shit real quick.
Very cool! I was wondering if someone would.
I'd be careful about posting a copy of the pics here. I believe climbing the falls is technically illegal. Grrr.....
In the not so distant past, skiing was a part of mountaineering. At least Anderl Heckmair claims so. Besides, it'll speed up the approaches and descents.
