Methamphetamine was first synthesized in Japan in 1919. Amphetamines and other stimulants were quite popular with all of the worlds militaries in WW2 (and are still used today).
  7. Indeed. Who would have suspected it of a man driving a Ford SuperDuty pickup?
  8. I find it more interesting that he bought "the ranch" in 1999, just before he began his presidential campaign. Every summer prior he'd vacationed in Kennebunkport. And here's that diry, nasty, liberal, MSM rag the New York Times, talking about war heroes?
  9. Look at total light output (birghtness, measured in lumens more is better), Contrast ratio (higher is better), number of colors (more is better) and max resolution. Those are probably the most important specs. Before you buy checkout how much the replacement bulbs are, they will be expensive. Brands are somewhat irrelevant - they all get sourced from the same regions (and often companies) nowadays.
  10. For my troop that ended 2 acres of forest Peas in water were another fine addition to the fire.
  11. Whatever. It's time for the BSA to do some soulsearching. They may be "good people", but good leaders don't put up tents under electric lines or go hiking in lightning storms. This an organisation with the individual motto of "Be Prepared" and 300 people get treated for heat exhaustion? And sure anyone can volunteer - as long as you aren't gay, and are willing to swear to god.

  14. That over a dozen scouts and leaders have died this summer in numerous accidents (electrocutions, lightning strikes, drownings) suggests that the BSA has substantial leadership issues. Perhaps if the leaders were selected on competence, not ideological purity they wouldn't have these issues?
  15. That sounds like a chinese TNF knock-off
  16. Should have seen your wife's reaction
  17. Bet those soft silky hands go over well. Nothing says evil supervillain like soft silky hands.
  18. My 2GB CF card went up $20 in price
  19. You can't replace the whole board at once - there is a limit(2?) on the number of write-in board members allowable at any one time. They've enough other restrictions in place to make it practically impossible to win as a write-in, and impossible to effect change if you do get elected. It'd still be a sweet job as a climber. $20k a year for 1.5 days a month work. If you ask REI they'll provide you a packet of information on canidacy requirements.
  20. If you make it to a nursing home as a male the pickings aren't slim. There's a big market, and everyone's trying to have a little fun before the end
  21. Sure the bulb isn't very dim?
  22. And who would argue?
