There ever was such a thing? I always thought the last good Warren Miller was before you personally got tired of his 55 year old schtick - because he's been doing the same f'ing thing since 1950.

My WFR at WWU was under $500. EMT at North Seattle CC is $600 + books/equipment. If a WFR costs more than $500, it probably includes lodging. Where do you know of for a cheaper EMT? OEC is $80-100 through your local ski patrol Clackamas Community college was something like $2-300 for residents, Ventura Community College is similar for residents. Apparently WA wants to keep people stupid. The books are a good thing so you can review and perhaps keep competent. It's merely another option; one that's served me well. To each their own.

Naxo NxO1 bindings & Scarpa Matrix boots for sale

I can buy the boots new for $50 less than that -
tangent: I don't believe most states "recognize" ski patrollers. Acceptable qualifications vary from patrol to patrol - some will only take EMTs, some OECs (a NSP administered program which WFR holders can challenge) some both. I've seen a somewhat similar patchwork for mtnrescue ops, but you probably know better than I. Your point about an accredited credential is good.

I just bought a pair from Telemark Pyrenees ($455). The walk mode and cuff flex aren't nearly as nice as a more traditional AT boot, but they are stiff for the downhill.

Dude, you are a fucking arrogant prick aren't you? Because the WFR courses I've seen consist of a bunch of young middle and upper class slackers looking to get a job in the "industry" to go with their soul patch, birkenstocks, carhartts and copiously stickered and brandname bedazzled paraphenalia. EMT and WFR are at opposite ends of the continuum, with OEC in the middle. EMT is focused on quick transport, OEC transport with say 30 minutes, WFR longer. People still break in similar manners, I'd think a bright boy like yourself could come to terms with that.

If you've scheduling issues look into taking an EMT course from your local community college or an OEC course from your local ski patrol. They also tend to be cheaper. like $1-300 bucks and evening classes a couple times a week vs. a week off whatever and $7-900 for WFR

Where will you be living/working? East of the Willamette can shave 20/30 minutes off Blakes times.

they may well, ISO don't mean shit for quality. Indian Railways are ISO compliant CCH has always been a little cottage company. Many climbers seemed to revel in that; this is the flipside of that coin.

aww, how sweet. You envy his access to climbing; he envies your unencumbered access to ungulates!

Speaking from recent experience, many of their airlines are better or no worse than US carriers. American carriers are pretty fucking pathetic. Maybe if we paid Ryanair prices we'd have a rational excuse for the shitty service.

You can stand up, walk, congregate in groups of more than 2 and get a decent drink. Yes.

Thanks for the heads up. You can almost always find them cheaper at amazon or www.bookfinder.com though

WTF wants to go to SoCal? I live here - I try to go away everychance I get! Your answer: repeal foreign ownership restrictions on airlines and bring consolidation and quality services to the US Aviation industry.

American air carriers suck Repeal the ownership restrictions and bring credible carriers to America
