  1. for one, the title of the subject line.
  2. Although Colin has done a number of fun climbs most of you are too lazy or tied down with life to bother doing or scoping out for the right timing, I wasn't aware that "Coley Haley -- the new Fred" has established thousands of new lines, discovered hundreds of new areas, climbed more routes than almost anyone alive for 70 years, and inspired several generations of climbers. Dumbass Hero Worshiping is only going to give the kid a complex aka "Miles Smart Syndrome" or get him killed or depressed for needing to live up to the dorks waiting in line to suck him off. I think Wayne, Colin, and Marko deserve beers and an "atta boy" handshake , not this . (post deleted by moderators in 10, 9, 8, 7,....) Nope, not deleted, just moved this branch to spray, seemed a little more appropriate. -- Off White
  3. I topped them off with a wet splattery one
  4. Cool, didn't hear about that one. Post a photo if you can (slide scanner). Thanks, Colin. Beckey doesn't give the actual line of Never Enough, but i guess it starts below a chimney. Was yours in more of a gully (since it was mixed), or was it on a ridge or face? Someone else did a route up there too and posted it on this website. Anyone?
  5. ok, that was horrible mispelledd. Who did a new route near clean break (last year was it?)? Can't find it with the search.
  6. I'm sure they'll be fine on saturday! If the access coulior is melted out, just climb the EZ rib to the left. SAy hi to the maggots at the pit toilet for me (insert much needed vomiting greamlin)
  7. I was never suportive, and am 30lbs off your needed weight. Also, you were never on belay! HA!
  8. are they in the Fijords(sp?) if so, don't bother. I did em already. Haven't bothered to write them up, do the fundraiser, make to t-shirts, or do the slideshow tour, however.
  9. Perfectly safe on the S.Ridge of Gimley in the Valhalla.
  10. Attitude's got it right. My friend guided a season on denali w/that thing. GoLite rocks, hope they stay cheap.
  11. Wild things ice-sack.
  12. I've NEVER needed a pack bigger than 50L on weeklong climbing overnights or multiday winter climbing trips, even in Alaska. The only time I've used anything bigger was when I hiked the appalachian trail years ago and I took way way way way too much shit.
  13. Ursa, thanks for the video. It's been the most oft quoted 9 minutes of my life. "I live in a giant bucket" Mr. E. Are we still friends?

  18. Rad, jordop and i had similiar issues on the attempt on the Evolution Traverse...faquin freezing(for jordon...pussy ), and little hope for water on route. (I've always wanted to go to the pickets until that goddamned SW BC Select book came out and ruined my life )
  19. Jordop and I went to the Sierras for a week. Rained a couple days, but got some good climbs in, the best being the Reg Rt on Fairview, worst...hiking into the evolutions w/o enough insulation (at least for Jordop, I passed out so I couldn't really judge the temps ).

    I'm off!

Just got back from Garfield. Christ did the "F's" take forever! Not really looking forward to the "H's". We've totally converted the van into a state-of-the-art logistics station. Had to hire a programmer to feed map info into the computer. What a nightmare. can't quit now.
  21. He's one of the folks that assoiates alpine climbing as "shitty". That route did have an alpine feel, however.
  22. Gee golly guys, this thread sure is nifty. Gosh! Colin, are you sure your up to it? Haha, just kidding! I wish I could hang here, but I didn't bring the cracker for the

    I'm off!

Jesus! Not sleeping has allowed us to make it all the way to the "E" section. We finally got our sat phone working! It's nice seeing Dome Peak still there after climbing it two days ago. Lots of peaks coming up, and will soon be back here after climbing forbidden, formidable, forgotten, etc to climb gunsight. Not sure where German helmet is. Gotta figure this out. Too many maps!

Well with the feet healed, Jordop and I are headed on a two week road trip. The goal? A complete enchainment of all the peaks in the three Beckey guides in alpahbetical order! I'll post the TR when we've finished. BYE
