  2. Marylou, there are soft ankle braces made out of cloth with laces and posterior and or lateral stabilizers. just search the net. kinesiotape is a great alternative to provide proprioceptive feedback without being constrictive. downsides are price, constant re-taping, and irritation from the adhesive, but they stay on for a week. you can also put some pre-wrap on your ankle, do a good tape job, and cut it off, re-applying tape on the outside each time you use it.
  3. Actually Wayne and Lane did it last fall and froze their asses off.
  4. How many of those routes have ever been repeated? Acid Baby, Mythic Wall, and Back of Beyond have all had repeated ascents with reviews, bitch.
  5. the tendon is covered in a well vascularize peritendon sheath, as well as the musculo-teninous juntion, and surrounding soft tissues, thus the need to ice days 1-5(7) for achilles tendinitis AND plantar fascitis: the "calf stretcher" is a straussenberg (sp?) sock. one of the best things you can do. x-fiber massage too (or graston technique). "short foot exercises" like curling a towel w/toes, or picking up a golf ball are helpful. Another method is low freq ultrasound (forget the name) similiar to the kind used to break up kidney stones. prevention: orthodics, heel lifts, tuli cups.
  6. do NOT do alt hot/cold until after the inflammation has subsided!
  7. **Shoes: too tight, too loose, poor fit. **Gait: over or under pronation: Tuli Cup (bilateral), bilat heel lifts, medial post, orthodics **Stretch Gastrosoleus avoid toe running ultrasound, Eletric Stim, transverse friction massage elastic tape for shock absorb adjust calcaneus and / or other foot subluxations Exercise: toe raises avoid running up or downhill longer warm-up ice when acute caused by tight gastrocs, bad shoes, biomechanical defects (subluxation, over/underpronation) rule out: bursitis, fracture, tennis leg, plantar fascititis

  22. exactly. just a little food for thought as to why we'd climb a route, and why folks keep mentioning those route over and over again... Someone may have climbed eve dearborn this weekend, not sure. Two friends bailed on it on thursday. Said the gully looked ez, the crux was extreme moss/shrub climbing to avoid the waterfall pitches. I'd still be psyched on it, just cuz. The '78 route looks like the bussiness though
  23. No offense dude, but the more you keep asking stupid questions like this, the more I would hold back beta.
  24. Funny how a name, a really good pic, or reputation for whatever reason can make a route that may not be so good, hard, or aesthic. Here's a list of climbs i believe may be "overhyped" and if repeated would get a full supply of congrats that a harder route may not get -Eve Dearborn Memorial -Thermogenesis -Dragontail Madness Climb one of these and you'll be a hero!
