  3. Anyone know how to get to Holden from Lucrene. I was told I have to write to Holden for the bus schedule and to get a spot on the bus, but since I'm leaving saturday, there's no time for that. Does anyone have any experience, or know anything about just showing up at Lucrene and getting a ride to holden? Thanks, Mike
  4. NW Face of W ridge on stuart, route in direct center. S.Face Center on Big Kangaroo. Crack goes up and under l side of big roof. Blank below crack (not shown in photo). Warning: the col requires a rapell of a pin, and re-climbing it is eXtra sketchy right now (5.9 hyperchoss, double moat, death block top-out, hand-jamming in ice)
  5. Bailed on both this weekend, might go back, might not? There was a homemade bail bolt 1/3 of the way up the W.Face Wall of the West ridge of Stuart with "1997" stamped on it. We bailed there too. Extremely steep hard climbing to that point, even steeper and harder above. May require lots of cleaning or aid/bolts. Who tried that route? Also, the center of the S.Face of Big Kangaroo has a mindblowinly steep line up the center of it (looks like almost 100% aid or 5.12-5.14 crack) marred only by massive chimneys at the top, and about a 50 foot section of blankness 100' off the deck to get in the line. There was a bolt with some white tat on it before the crack starts. Doesn't look like that person/party went higher than that since I'd expect at least a few more bolts. Who attempted that line? I'll post pics after a bit.

  9. For best results, you should dump the girl because you feel sorry for her for going out with a scumbag like you yup, guilty. not the current one though, so you a-holes hold on to your bettin' money cuz it's still game-on.
  10. well y'all went for that one pretty quick.
  11. any thoughts on overcoming the fear of trad, like climbing a longer sport route or something. please help. need to uncage the soul for immediate release.
  12. haha! Love getting my female friends riled up!
  13. So sooner did i post the happy dancing men, does Beckey call me 3 times wanting to climb at WA pass. I call him back to tell him I already made plans, when he answers and I hear "beep beep boop beep" and realize he's trying to make a phone call so I yell "FRED! I'm on the phone" Not that I don't like Fred, he's the best, I just wish he didn't own a cell phone and would make plans a bit more than a day in advance.

  18. who were the AAI and MM guides?
  19. Hey! I bought them there, they broke, and under their 100% satisfaction policy, i returned them. It's their own fault for having that policy. That's like saying I shouldn't cash in my income tax return, so taxes will be lower....not that i've had income tax in the past 4 years
  20. Get a copy of hiking Whatcom county. It has a lot of awesome hikes and good ideas. Best hiking book ever! Maybe nooksak cirque? Not the price lake trail, but the lower elevation/easier hike. Beautiful. Anywhere you go this w/end should be gorgeous, concidering the weather forecast!
  21. what type of surgery was done??? brain? shit Kurt, get better.
  22. I also have bilateral thoracic outlet syndrome. Two causes (usually) 1. cervical rib -remove said rib 2. tight scalenes, pecs -stretch said muscles massage with pin and strech and trigger point therapy on key muscles is key in solving the shoulder problem. stregnthening isn't the key in my book. re-wiring your shoulder's firing patter is. get those scapula stabilized, upper traps inhibited, lower traps activated, serratus anterior activated, pecs, subscap, stretched....blah blah blah. Most climbers I seriously doubt have any weak shoulder muscles. over active ones though. and as for labrum...you can sometimes calm the shoulder down enough to keep the humerus from grinding it, but it's a common surgery. impingment is more easily solved (see above) as is frozen shoulder. Supraspinatus and biceps tears are manageable, unles a big tear, then once again surgery. come see me when I get my license. I'll help y'all get better. I'm specializing in shoulders, knees, feet, wrist/hands, and elbows....besides the spine.
  23. can't say if it's snow covered or not, but definately not a ski, probably not a snow-shoe either.
  24. They finally "Straightened out" and "freed" the curtis. Thanks for always doing the good climbs during my finals or midterms weeks a-holes! Nice job!
