  1. If you know any, "hot climbing guys," set her up with one. After a little while the guy will realize that she not really into climbing and a pain in the ass to boot. He'll ditch her, and then she'll hate climbers and climbing. If you don't know anyone to set her up with I'll help out.
  2. Cman and I skied up to Boston Basin this weekend. We left Seattle early in the morning and drove to mile 20 on the Cascade River Road. Skinning up the road went smoothly; there was no avalanche debris at Midas Creek. Skiing up by the Diamond Mine was tough due to the lack of snow, however we eventually got to some glades where the skiing was much easier. After the glades we skied up through big trees until we reached open slopes at the top of Midas Creek. As we traversed left towards the center of the basin the skinning got much harder. You could get your edge into most of the snow, however there were areas with 2’ of powder on an icy base. When we reached the basin proper we had lunch and set up our tent. After the break we headed uphill with much lighter packs. Skiing up the Quien Sabe glacier went smoothly, but when we reached the base of Sharkfin tower a cloud settled on Sahale and Boston Peaks. The low snow year has left some big crevasses open on the upper part of the Quien Sabe glacier, but we managed to thread our way up to Boston/Sahale col. The wind was strong at the col, and the clouds swirled all aroud us. We caught a couple views of the Boston Glacier and Buckner then we started our ski down the glacier. The snow was nice; there was some powder and some areas of icy snow. We took a break after we had skied the initial slopes and watched as the clouds started to break. At camp the white out we had skied through was replaced with blue skies and alpenglow. We planned on skiing up to the base of the SW face of Forbidden on Sunday, however it started to snow during the night, and we woke to a cloud ceiling 100’ above us. The clouds started to lower, and we decided that skiing back to the car was a better idea. There was some nice skiing above the Diamond Mine. I would rate this trip Fun. Spring skiing is going to be a short season ths year!
  3. Do not let her belay you on lead climbs outdoors or in the gym!!! Other than that I would let her belay you on top rope in the gym until she dropped you too far. After that I would let her take some good falls on toprope.
  4. You're just too dumb to know where to go.
  5. I'm skiing dipshit
  6. Because your a cc.com addict
  7. Michael, I thought your trip report was alright, however I would have formated the photos differently. I think Crazyjz was mostly slamming TR's like the "Second ascent of Spindrift Couloir." The climb Mattp and daylord(?) did was an impresive one. However when CJZ ask me to reread the trip report, I found it impossible. I started reading the report and after 2/3s of a paragraph I decided I would try and skim the report. After making it 1/2 way through the report I gave up. Try reading it yourself; the report is mostly bs despite the fact it was a climb I found interesting.
  8. I'm a little confused. I thought the whole idea of a Pub Crawl was to visit a lot of pubs. It seems like all you did was hang out at the Sloop. I like the Sloop, but that doesn't make a pub crawl.
  9. Way to editorialize the Pub clubs. Dexter and Hayes is so good cause it's 5 blocks from your house.
  10. Moguls and jumping are for kids. I'm not saying that's bad, but you need fresh knees.
  11. Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've got a pair of K2 X14s with AT bindings.
  12. Every time I'm at Smith all I see is dogs, dogs, dogs. What's going on? If you want to be a hard core sport climber do you need to own a dog? What do people see in dogs? They are fun to play with, but they are a pain in the ass to own. Speaking as a tree guy, I fucking hate dogs. I work for people who think it's no big deal for me to drag brush through a backyard caked in fucking dog shit. Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs! Fuck dogs!
  13. I'd help you out, but you would have to loose that tele gear and get an AT set up.
  14. That reminds me of that jackass who posted links to his West Butt of Denali expedition . What ever happened to him? He was going to tell us all about climbing in the Cascades.
  15. That's one of the choices for next week.
  16. Somehow I think numbnutz has never heard of the Wallowas.
  17. Whatever. I'm sure you had fun skiing
  18. This is what I'm against. Snowmobiles on logging roads Snowmobiles in clearcuts Snowmobiles in high alpine environment Or at least banned from most high alpine areas.
  19. Drinking in your free time is serious business pal
  20. Every time I've been on a snowmobile (3 times) the machine broke down. They do suck, unless you go 20K for a new one every 2 years.
  21. I think the basic debate is over those that put a non smoking environment first on their list of criteria, and those who feel a nonsmoking bar is a plus but low on their criteria. I think good atmosphere, reasonable drink/food prices, and decent service are much more important than a nonsmoking environment. In fact I think these criteria trump the no smoke bar. Look at the Blue Star. Expensive food and beer, sterile atmosphere, and shitty uptight service. My general feeling is that all nonsmoking bars have these problems. I think if you smoke haters want to sell the rest of us on a nonsmoking bar then find a place that meet the three criteria above and then emphasize those points when your trying to sell it.
  22. Hmm. Icegirl was having a good time at Pub Club, or at least it looked that way. I would say that a lot of bars we've been to have long tables. I don't see that as a real issue. There was some smoke at the bar, but you know they do make washing machines. Also there's nothing wrong with taking regular showers, or washing your cloths. Pub Club was fun. Matt P tried to help Col Von Sp out by hiding an active avy tranceiver near a group of ladies and giving the Col another tranceiver. The Col didn't play along to well though.
  23. What's up with all this talk of next week. Next week is next week. we'll be fighting about that soon. This week Al's is winning (poll on pg 1) right now. I'll go to any of those places, but right now I'm going skiing so haha you suckers. Try and figure it out by early afternoon!
  24. Fool why don't you and Allison get together at any bar in the city except for the bar Pub Club is at. Or show up a few times and someone might be willing to listen to your choice of venue.
  25. So you're one of those antismoke wimps. Mommy my cloths smell like smoke.
