Glad you're doing OK. Just curious - will those Ti rods get taken out eventually or are you planning on keeping them in for life? It seems like it would seriously impair your ability to flex your back or really fuck things up in the event of another back injury. I had some hardware put in my arm years ago which was subsequently removed on the doctor's suggestion that it may seriously fuck things up if an injury were to occur there again.

I went touring up there once years ago and loved it. The terrain there is outstanding. I don't really know anything about the hut though. What's the situation inside the hut? Pretty cramped? Wooden bunks? Do you need some sort of reservation or is it first come/first served? I've been telling some friends about the valley and want to organize a weekend up there, but want to get the lowdown on the hut before I go further with the plans. This is the hut at the base of the Anniversary Glacier, correct? Glad everyone was OK!

Interesting note relating to your article.... In Santiago, Chile there are several cafes called "Starlight" cafe. They use the same font as Starbucks, the same color green awnings, probably thinking that some Chileans will think it's probably just Starbucks. The copyright laws may not be as enforceable there?

I'm sorry. Did I say it was wrong? I simply wanted to know what's up with the rating system mixup. I apparently should be paying more attention to you, the lord of all climbing knowledge. Read before you spew dru. Maybe it's common if you read things like Rock/Ice and Climbing, but I don't read those rags.

I still don't get the mixing of grading. Why not just call them 14d 14c moves? Why go to the bouldering rating system. It's the first time I've ever seen that. You don't see routes on insert rock wall here rated with sections of V9 followed by 10 feet of V12 blah blada blah...

Yeah, what's up with calling this "5.15" a V12/13, etc? Is this a highball boulder problem? Why is it called a route?
