Been trying to get partners for that route lined up for the last month, glad the stars aligned for you!
-
I have seen heard a lot of them in the MRNP Tatoosh range this summer. I was climbing the west ridge of Castle and got super surprised by a low flying drone when the person took it up the face not knowing whom what was over the ridge. I chucked a rock and they got the hint.

Thanks I did go down that path especially with a family in tote. It has been a very speedy recovery we are going on 11 1/2 months post incident and last month I was leading 5.7 out Tieton and lots of 5.9-10 sport outside. I have made quiet a few rock crag trips with my middle son. It has given me some time to slow down and do easy stuff to teach him proper skills, that I am very great full for that opportunity. I was after a 2 day trip the other weekend but it turned into 15 mile day trip out Goat rocks the other weekend. My new mountaineering boots were very comfortable and besides being a little out of shape I didn't have any major pain or discomfort. I am headed to Bozeman, MT this month with a old friend to test the last piece of the puzzle on some hopefully good Ice. I would say the worse part about this whole situation has been the concussion, I still have light and sound sensitivity (when tired), change of personality, and having a hard time getting more than 6hrs of sleep ( due to my brain turning on).

Nice idea and not a horrible list!

How goes it with the recovery, you still jiving down the side walk?? I was able to top rope some routes out McCleary Rocks today, thanks to a great friend that came along. I feel the need to pick up a stationary bike, no matter how much walking and stairs I have been doing the shin muscle tendon doesn't seem to want to loosen up. I had to do a lot of switching feet and lead with my good foot so leading 5.6/.7 is still out of range but class 2 3 scrambles are achievable. I might have some free weekends in July if you want to get out for something you are comfortable on then lets go for it and enjoy some low consequence fun!

Good news, I went at my first actual hike, haven't done more than a mile before the hike. Me and my Dad ended up doing the Rampart ridge trail into the wonderland, start and finish at Longmire. I was able to hold a consistent 45min mile all around, his watch said 6Mi I think the map says around 4.9 or 5. I was able to get up and go just fine the next morining, we did another 3mi hike with only 500ft gain the following day. I am finally transitioning back to work so things are looking up. Have gotten lots of reading done, and my yards flowerbeds and garden are doing excellent having this 6 1/2 mo home. @psathyrella I hope things are going well for you, keep up the good work.

Nice Job Alex, I always enjoy your trip reports. -
Contact Randy at his website, he is a great guy and might be able to get you one in time for your trip.

Excellent job, would also enjoy reading a trip report on it. Looks like quite the route finding challenge and the timing needs to be spot on. Did you find the pro placement sufficient or was everything rotted out?

That is a great report. Do you have any suggestions on a sled. I have been wanting to get one for some deep overnight trips, basically forest service road traveling. Hope full for knowledge on track length motor size years ect thanks. @Eric Gilbertson -

@psathyrella How are things going for you, its been a minute since I have check whats up on the internet machine. I hope things are going well and you are still staying positive. I got out for my first time since December yesterday. I only did a 40yd crutch through the woods, it was a lot but came as a nice reset. keep pushing it.

I thought I responded to you, but now I can't remember what I said. I am glad it wasn't worse for you and that you are getting after it. Take care of it and dont push the recovery to fast, trust your gut if something doesn't feel right. I am not much for phone calls in my current state but have no problem messaging. Don't get bored and discouraged, work out the things you can! I am 2 weeks post op from my 2nd surgery and full of hardware now. The pain is receding fast and I feel the best I have since my accident 3mo ago. It is a challenge like I have never had before. You got this, and don't be shy about reaching out to me if you get bored. I have taken up card games on the computer, and lots of reading. You will find something. I am 39 and this is the first thing I have ever broke that needed medical attention if I can make it you can for sure.

That looks like Canada? I have been digging up routes and locations in hopes of a trip next year. Also thanks for starting this Jason, I would be game for another picture fundraiser if you do it again. A picture of my mentor (father) pre 1988 on top of Mt Wilson after doing Athabasca- Skyladder, Andromeda N face, and Attempt of Andromeda-Strain

Very nice job writing this trip report, I am glad to see you post it here. If you had fun and made it to the car then it was a good trip, fa or not. Keep climbing for you!! P.S Check with Jens Holsten on FA he has done a bunch in the cascades if it is important to you. You can google his blog. -
Thank you all. I have seen a therapist at least 3 times a year for a good while. For other things, it's nice to have the help navigating!

Thats where I am at with the fib alignment also, just have to convince my doctors. I wish i could say I charged back at it but I haven't. I have been couch bound for a month I get drove to go to pt 2 times a week by my wonderful wife but that is the extent of my activities. I will keep my chin up and thank you for the advice, all of you. I am aiming to being able to walk for a mile and not hurt at 6mo mark.

Thank you all for this, my dad and his old climbing partner were crazy and are in there 70s now so they are trying to help. My kids are 10, 12 13 and I am still married, my family has helped a ton. Sometimes words from people that have been there and had/ have your mindset help. My good friend and climbing partner has helped more than he knows still and was also first responder. The night terrors are fading, it was a straight, feet down, eyes open to the bottom fall. I wish I could train hard on my torso to keep some muscle mass but I jacked up my right shoulder feels like a torn rotator cup and fractured my left elbow also. I am finding hobbies but don't want to bail on climbing. I went from thinking Chair peak NE Buttress winter ascent, and ice cliff being mild climbs to hoping that Elinor in the Olympics wont be to much. They are telling me and I am finding that it might be a year until I am able to start easing back into things. Specifically Olyclimber: my fibula is not mending nearly as fast as they want and the mis alignment is driving me crazy in fear of hip foot future pain and complications. Did you have to deal with that or where was your break?
