  1. Yes, the AR does have utility purposes, deer hunting (in some states), varmit hunting, target shooting, 3 gun matches, self defense. Why is this all about "assault weapons?" The Va Tech killer used a Glock 19 9mm(15 rd magazine) and a Walther P22 .22 caliber rimfire (10 rd magazine) and killed what 32 adults? Pistols account for the majority of gun deaths, "assault weapons" account for a very small ammount. Yet this is all about the "assault wepon" and high (standard) capacity magazines?
  2. We HAVE those restrictions. Do you know what it takes to own a full auto weapon of any kind? 2 passport style photos, finger prints, BATFE form 1 or 4 signed off by the Chief law enforcment official in your city/county (you can form a living trust to get around this but that is $$) then, cut a check to the BATFE and cross your fingers that in 6 weeks you get your form back saying you can purchase said weapon. You also submit to random home checks by the BATFE and have to submit written permission to transport said weapon across state lines. Oh and full auto weapons have to have been made prior to 1984 and cost somewhere around $20k. You can't simply go down to the local gun store and be like, "Hey gimme some of that there full-auto belt fed goodness and 10,000 rounds of hate." edit, forgot to add the more intense background check.
  3. We are looking at a massive reduction in force right now. Spread out over 5 years.
  4. And yet, cars kill more people every year than guns do and we aren't looking to restrict them more? We have over 20,000 gun laws on the books, how many of those laws do criminals follow? Look at Mexico, draconian gun laws, super safe, hardly any gun murders down there.
  5. So are you saying that the US military does not make our country safer? Hmmm never even thought of that, I guess we should just disolve it then right?
  6. So where is your outrage and demanding of strict driving laws? Lowering speed limits, breathalyzer ignition systems on cars. Car accidents kill more kids in a year than guns ever have and ever will. All so some ass hat can go party it up in a bar or own that fast car. And your other post? Do you think I am happy about any of that shit?
  7. If you live in such a shithole that you're worried about being attacked in your home, get a shotgun, or how about a fucking dog, and STFU already. Or get some psychiatric help if the paranoia's that bad. The rest of us are tired of paying the price for your craziness. Yeah, that AR15 was fun to shoot. Tough toenails. What price are you paying? If anyone here has paid a price it is me volunteering so you can be an asshat on the ineterwebz. How about you go get a shrink if you are so worried about getting shot by one of dem evil black gunz. And move to Europe, they have a wonderfull little utopia of gun control. Is this how spray is supposed to go? Is kind of a good time in here.
  8. Meh, probably right. I sure as hell don't have to like it though and see it as a clear errosion of rights. It is just like the Westboro Baptist idiots, I hate their message, but support their right to do it.
  9. Hey touching off a nuke with a roman candle would be a pretty good time.
  10. My camelback came in a neoprene pouch, it keeps stuff pretty warm. I am going to try that bubble wrapped stuff though, that is a good idea.
  11. Well, here is rational: FBI murder statistics 2007 to 2011: http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-8 You are missing the point. (And again with the cruise missiles and nukes argument...) the 2nd amendment was set up so that the citizens (you, me and even Ivan) would have the right to own whatever the hell we want, so that in the very very unlikely circumstance that a tyrant/dictator/bad dude is in charge we could over throw him/her by force and preserve the Union and our rights. And buying a gun with out a background check can only be done by a face to face purchase and varies by state. Ca for example that is a no go. And why am I belly aching? Because where the hell does it stop? Assault weapons (which count for a very small percentage of gun deaths) are the first to go, as well as "high capacity" magazines (which by the way, the standard capacity magazine is 30 rounds) Then what? Those evil sniper rifles? Pocket knives? Look at England, you can't even carry a pocket knife unless you can prove that you have to have it for your job.
  12. What is funny, is that you all have an outstanding grasp on what the 1st amendment is and why it is there, but the 2nd amendment? Meh I don't have guns so fuck it I don't care about it. Besides only hillbillies and nut jobs own guns. And yes Ivan back then the 2nd was for muskets, which at the time was the pinnacle of military weapons. Today the main battle rifle of our military is the M-4 carbine. And our citizens are free to buy an AR-15, as it should be. And GGK aren't you from Poland? I'd think you would be the first person to be against gun control. I guess you didn't pay attention in history class though. Europe, Russia, Cambodia, Phillipines. All less than a hundred years ago. I guess all of those motos on flags and such are just catchy sayings and sound cool, that's why they are there. Sic Semper Tyrannis. I have served this country for 14 years, I have deployed and fought, I have lost friends and been to more funerals and memorials than most of you combined and to hear people want to willingly give up their rights is fucking depressing.
  13. We should limit freedom of speech to ten words or less.
  14. Cale, is there any way you could throw up a post about the InReach unit? I was looking at that and the newer spot, but was leaning more towards the InReach.
  15. well, one war was legit... the other maybe not so much.
  16. Not sure where you can buy one, you can buy a 37mm "flare gun" that is an M-203 knockoff. Each round you fire will be considered a destructive device and will be subject to the $200 tax stamp and paperwork. And clearly a nuke is in a class of it's own, with the fall out and such. Not really safe to fire those off anywhere in the world as it effects all of us. But I like how the left likes to chime in with that one. Seems to be the favorite comeback of gun haters. And as far as explosives, get the right licenses and sure, they will allow you to have them. Look up tannerite. I have been around guns my entire life and don't see any reason to limit use by law abiding citizens any further than they are already limited. I just wonder, where will it stop? Would you be happy with zero guns of any kind, or just the "scary looking" ones. Have you ever shot a gun or been around guns? If not, I'd be more than happy to take anyone out who wants to shoot and see what it's all about.
  17. Little fun fact: how much additional cost does it take to own an RPG and what additional registration does it take? cost of RPG, plus $200 tax stamp cost filed with a form 4 or form 1 to the BATFE that has two fingerprint cards, two passport photos and the form 1/4 has to be signed off by the chief law enforcement officer for your area. The $200 tax stamp and all of the paper work is also for each round.
  18. What I am saying about the breathalyzer ignition is that far more people die by drunk driving/drivers than by guns each year. Why is it that no one looks at retooling those laws and making more restrictions? We have a shit ton of gun laws already, most are unenforceable or do absolutely nothing to protect anyone, yet people are constantly wanting more laws. If people want to hurt other people they will find a way, whether that way be a gun, a car, a knife or fertilizer. So what do we do? Do we follow England and restrict firearms, then see a rise in knife attacks and restrict them too?
  19. With the advent of the internets would you be cool with the 1st amendment being re-looked? Fuck speed limiters, why not make a breathalyzer ignition system standard on all vehicles, no grandfather clause, if you own a vehicle you have to have an ignition system installed. Lets say that all of these guns are made illegal, what is that going to do? How long would it take to get them off of the streets? Would you be cool with the US Gov't going door to door house by house and searching for them? Would you open your doors and let people search your house for the "better good?" And as far as anti-tank weapons and shit like that, if Ted Turner wanted to buy a 105 howitzer and shoot it on his property, what would that hurt? He has so much property that people probably wouldn't even hear it. It's like people owning .50 cal rifles for long distance target shooting. As long as they are doing it on a range in a safe manner, rock on.
  20. What would you think they would say about the 1st amendment? Do you think they would be cool with the civil rights movements or the God hates fags crowd?
  21. word, then I could afford all the coolest climbing gear and fishing stuff
  22. Ya except we didn't cry about it, we just drove on and did our jobs.
  23. If he doesn't have to pay for legit med reasons than so be it. I wonder though if he would have been able to be re-evaluated and possibly get his commision. Shit, there is an acceptance to policy for everything in the Military. Dude, no the Mason thing wasn't a joke. It is a bit bigger back east. We call them ring knockers, and I have straight up had a 1st Sergeant come in and say that if you aren't a Mason you will not be a Platoon Sergeant in his company.
  24. I hope he does. I know that right now he isn't doing so great in popularity with a lot of the .Mil forums.
  25. He was already NOT getting his commision because of anxiety and clinical depression. And if he did turn down his commision, he just recieved an ivy league education (equivelent) on the tax payer dime and is giving nothing in return. If you want to know who the true click-ish problems are in the .Mil it is all of the Free Masons, who happen to be black. They are the only ones who have not even attempted to hide discrimination, they just do it openely.
