  1. Sorry, not a trip report, just a thank you to who ever gave me and my wife some walking advice! Who ever you were, we both thank you and I am pretty sure you kept my wife from bashing my head in with a rock whilst I slept!
  2. The road to cold springs is open. Lots of people and traffic this weekend and today.
  3. My wife and I are heading up for a Sunday Monday attempt. I doubt we will be back in time to get you any usefull info though.
  4. Email and PM sent about one of the stoves.
  5. I am able to get Scarpa boots through work for a great price. Right now I am looking at buying a pair, but not sure which pair to get. I am interested in either the Charmoz GTX's or the Triolet's. I will not be doing any winter/extreme cold stuff in them, and when I graduate up to that stuff I will buy another set of boots. Right now my goals are Adams, Baker this year, then Rainier next summer. I don't get cold feet very easily, in fact my feet usually stay hot and sweat a lot. I have tried some sportiva's on, but the toe box is too narrow for me, and the Scarpa boots just fit my feet better. Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated!
  6. This thread makes my hair hurt. And on a serious note, we need a popcorn smiley thing in the smiles icon. carry on.
  7. Murder? Murder is shaking a baby to death, murder is killing an innocent person because it gets you off, murder is breaking into someone's home and stealing their life for no good reason at all. This is war bro, death is just a job realated hazard. Am I upset OBL is dead? To be honest, a little. I would have rather we captured him and paraded him around like a show dog, now he is a martyr. Though his death will bolster our boys' confidence and morale, this will also give the bad guys another reason to fight too. The spring fighting season is starting up, this means more funerals of lost friends to go to. That sucks, but that is part of the job and we all accept that. Cheering for the death of a bad guy is the least thing on the long list that makes me a savage. Now, who wants to teach a savage about climbing mountains?

    New Guy

Hey just wanted to say hello, and introduce myself. Brand new to this whole climbing/mountaineering thing. Been back packing in the Sierras (Stanislaus Nat'l forrest) since I was 7 (30 now). Have lived in WA for about two years and figure I might as well take advantage of the area and try out some new stuff. My mountain experience includes schlepping heavy loads up and down mountains in Eastern A-stan and that is about it. Never used ropes, ice axes, crampons etc... I have done military ropping (rappeling and such) but nothing major. Anyhow, just here to read up and learn some stuff.
