CLimbed that route in 94 with short draws that I placed on lead..always thought the bolts were in the wrong spot...uber long draws validate that! RAD i've wasted more money on worthless projects in my life then you could imagine..luckily at wholesale the damage is minimized.

you know ANYONE can swap out fixed draws or hardware. if you use it you should be part of the solution as well as the problem. why not carry some of that crap in your own pack and spend a few minutes replacing things you find scary or crap!

steel to nylon has near identical lifespan. that comes from a industrial construction standpoint.

any layered fabric is going to perform almost identical. that rei chart is based in a controled enviroment with brand new material. neat.... breathability comes from actual venting in the garmet design....not microporous holes in the fabric...maybe if you could pressurize your jacket to create the enviroment that exists in the test you might see it work.....just bring multiple shirts and a synthetic puffy.
