  1. Does anyone know if you can you get into Bulo Point?
  2. Now thats a pretty good one!
  3. Oh I don't care, and I more than understand why you named it that. I guess I will just call it something else if ever go out there with my 12yr old son and climb it together, since he always really likes to know the names. A fair amount of people would probably find the name rather distasteful is all I am saying.
  4. Sweet Fucker... hmmm really you couldn't come up with a better name?
  5. Anyone been to this place: http://www.wix.com/ire510/moolackrockclimbing#! Seem interesting... Worth the drive from PDX/Vancouver area?
  6. Thanks, that doesn't help much though! I'm not as good of an ice climber as you are, I imagine, so I can't just jump on any old WI5. But if its easy for the grade or not a total sandbag, I might feel more comfortable getting on such an unpublished route. Oh well probably out of my league anyways.
  7. Wait so is it hard or easy for WI5? I'd like to give it a whack someday, but if its hard for the grade I think I might have someone else lead it
  8. Plaidman, you read my mind! I was just going to edit my post to add that. Cheers buddy
  9. Looks like a slog to get up there. Then again so is Trout Creek. Never made the hike but have craned my neck countless times as I drive by. Any fixed anchors? Chad Hmm yeah not any more of a slog than Trout, I think it is actually a bit shorter... maybe I'm mistaken though. Seemed easier to me. We caught an old road heading about halfway up the hill from behind the market. Then a mellow hike from the end of that up to the crag. Yup, some new bolts and old pins, as well as left some of our own gear. All of what we climbed was in the 5.10-5.11 and of very high quality. Probably could find some easier stuff if you wanted too. I'd check it out if I was you! In my opinion, plus there is a bit more adventure than Trout not knowing what your getting on and all, which I find to always be a fun way to spend the day.
  10. Ummm how is the report not too be trusted? Sounds like it did exactly what I would have expected it to do, as I attempted to point out before... But I guess to each his own eh! Monday: A 50 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy and cold, with a high near 7. Wind chill values as low as -34. Windy, with a west wind between 26 and 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. If that's not enough to deter you, I dont know what is...
  11. Looks like things are moving along pretty smoothly. Nice to see for a change, usually this stuff takes years. I'm already missing getting my Trout fix. Anyone ever climbed at Bill's Columns? We decided to check that out and found some really high quality routes. Plus 30 min less diving. Found some interesting old gear to boot!
  12. Well that is the NOAA forecast for 9,000....
  13. Sounds really nice up there! This Afternoon: Snow showers. High near 7. Wind chill values as low as -12. West wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible. Tonight: A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 2. Wind chill values as low as -13. West wind between 8 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Sunday: Snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy and cold, with a high near 3. Wind chill values as low as -19. West southwest wind between 9 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  14. Leading one 5.6 and top roping a couple of 5.9's at Ozone is news? Times are sure changing!
  15. I carry a 6 or 7mm tag line, as well as an 11mm static haul line, that way you can tag past the middle in a long pitch, you have less weight, you have an extra rap line. Also I've got a Kong Block Roll for hauling, so its heavy as all hell, so if I'm with a partner I can tag that, and some water up (or anything else I might need) and then begin the haul. Can't quite do it like that when soloing, unless you want to get into solo tagging. But you can still just tie both ropes together so your not bogged down by the heavy ass haul line as well as the whole rack. On all the harder pitches I've done on the Capitan I never start with the whole rack and probably tag 4 to 5 times through out the pitch. I am in Colorado for the month, but hopefully will have some free time when I'm back in Washougal. Have a drink for me though!
  16. Nice job guys, way to take all that mileage at Beacon and put it to use on the Big Stone! The Trip was my first solo on the Capitan, many a fond memories from up there, a couple not so fond
  17. Unbeliveable! Went to Shellrock Mountain Crag this weekend and found the cam sitting at the base! Never seen anyone else up there so I'm going to assume no one else really climbs there?
  18. Nice, supposed to head up there next week assuming the weather pans out. Thanks for the stoke!
  19. Ya so you guys only climbed two pitches on day two? Obviously fun and practice was the priority over speed? Good on you guys! But if the Plaidman wants to do the Nose at that rate he better plan on three weeks up there!
  20. Yeah I wouldnt want some 17/18 year olds with that kind of attitude borrowing my car either. You're lucky, if you where my kid and I read this, you'd get an ass whoopin!
  21. Love it, Guy posts asking for PRG partners in the dead of winter and... only gets one response and just "advice" in over 5 months. And here, Girl posts asking for PRG partners at the beginning of the summer and gets four eager responses in less than 24 hours...
  22. Seems like a majority of your TR posts are semi-epics. Stay safe out there! Glad to hear your okay, yet again!
  23. Nice! Your second picture is amazing!
  24. You shoulda bitched at him also for not carrying a whistle! Fuckin n00bz!!
