  1. I think, wait, do you hear that? I think we are all getting dumber by reading this.
  2. happy halloween.
  3. Dude there are so many theories on this one. Do what works for you. In the past I've used mittens as backup but have gotten away from that. But I definitely have some backup. I've started leaning towards a finger glove like the punisher with a thin liner that I can wear under the glove. This works well for anything of short duration and moderate cold.
  4. It's just classic that the name of the climb lent itself so well to the use of the word "poop". But in all honesty the guy seems like a trooper.
  5. probably a net neutral. You would be released upon the world and we would have our free time back. So that's a net neutral.
  6. that sounds cash!
  7. Ya let's face it- climbing is freaking dangerous. In my opinion winter climbing is generally tue most dangerous. Here's to a safe winter season.

  15. I think we're talking about the same thing here and it's different strokes for different folks.
  16. So I take it that skis a normally employed with this set-up? Guess that rules out the people without AT setups.
  17. fine---40$/ Take them off my hands please!! They are a psychological burden. I don't have room in my heart for these gloves.
  18. Ya I think this conversation may be taking on the more philosophical color eldiente, not that there is any problem with that. I think the hyperbole might be just to highlight the questions at hand.
  19. I'd say if I had to lean any direction it is towards under-protecting routes. Because you can always add bolts later if need be (although this is not meshing well with the common practice). I think we need a few over-bolted routes (condomorphine addiction) that let more new climbers onto otherwise intimidating routes. Obviously, as evidenced by their continued existence and even propagation, these routes serve a purpose. Then again, I climb trad 97% of the time.
  20. I made it up to 10,200 on Hood in November once. Would have probably summited if it were less foggy.
  21. ok that pic is creepster.
