Don't buy the stupid monster x. It personifies everything bad about climbing IMO- flashy, stupid, shallow. Get some tools you can take into the alpine and beat the s*** out of. Don't go for some showy monstrosity. Just my opinion of course. Then again, for someone just getting into ice they might be good. All depends on your priorities. Nothing against Grivel either- I freakin love their crampons and other gear.

I have the Millet Radikal Rock boots which I believe are similar . They climb mixed very well so far. Haven't had them on ice. Brief critique- they fit snuggly around the ankles so if that happens to you get them wet then tighten up the boa around some nalgenes- now mine fit perfectly. They are also very warm- not as warm as the Nepal Evo's (obviously) but closer than you would think. Edit- just checked out the boot- it is indeed quite similar.
