    Obamas speach

Apparantly, the biggest complaint Pakistani leaders had about the drone strikes was that the drones weren't painted with Pakistani Army insignias.
  3. Tony Bentley and I skiied that same W Mac route a few years ago too. It was fun but not a ton of vertical. Some of the steeper north facing lines like the Dagenhart Glacier look pretty rad, but probably not good until steep skiing season in the spring / early summer.

    Obamas speach

Well said. Obama knows we can't effectively neutralize our enemies in the region with 30k more troops. He just wants to make one last symbolic push before pulling out.

They don't let them have sex either.
  6. Not the most modest guy ever. The article focuses primarily on sport climbing but from what I understand Alan was also one of the best crack climbers in the world back in the day.
  7. The world's only 3000 years old too.
  8. I thought it was because of their use of incredible amounts of performance enhancing drugs. If you consider transsexuality to be enhanced performance that is. We're not talking about the Kenyans.
  9. To look good for the ladies, of course! Really though, my goal is to get stronger for climbing harder pitches. I used to be able to get out climbing more and at least get to the climbing gym pretty frequently, but can't do that now with my schedule. I'm not so concerned with generic fitness or cardio or as I already do a lot of that. It seems a lot of training materials are written to help you achieve specific goals instead of finding a sustainable routine that helps you stay in shape / get in better shape for the long term.

    so...

  11. Yeah, essentially I want a personal trainer for free.
  12. I'm asking you. You are the one making the point. I'm not trying to argue I'm just curious where the science is that says someone will be injured if one group of muscles is a lot stronger than another group.
  13. He will have a short career because he can't hold a water bottle above his head? That doesn't necessarily mean he will be injured.
  14. I thought it was because of their use of incredible amounts of performance enhancing drugs. I think Kimmo's probably right. It would be interesting to find out if the top rock climbers actually "train." They probably don't, they just climb all the time.
  15. True, but the religious version of fucktard have successfully quashed formerly successful population control programs in places like Mexico and India, and there are still plenty of folks right here who seem to be pumping more than their fair share of new little engines of consumption and waste production. But its my right as a god-fearing christian to father 15 children to fill my fleet of pre-purchased minivans with jesus fish emblems.
  16. Mike - Got the book yesterday. Thanks! Its definitly thorough and informative. Awesome. What is most useful to me is the exericise section. One suggestion I have would be to have some more detailed workout schedules, especially for folks like me who can't get into the climbing gym very often, but who have access to a normal gym and a hangboard. Like, Monday do exercise routine X, Tuesday exercise routine Y, etc, etc.
  17. Shit, I'd argue the even larger problem is over-population, which creates the demand for the infrastructure responsible for industrial emissions as well as tangible pollution and demand for limited resources.
  18. Even assuming that climate change is only partially anthropomorphicly caused, is it not still good policy to reduce emissions and pollution and take active policy measures to clean the environment, the water, and the atmoshphere? Would I be wrong by stating that other environmental problems, such as massive algae blooms in the ocean are primarily caused by increased levels of CO2 in the atmosphere? One issue not addressed by the contrarian arguments is the relationship between increased CO2 levels and dramatic temperature fluctuations, even if mean temp's stay the same.

    we suck

    Sad. Another alpine abortion.
  20. Do you ever put words together that make any fucking sense?
  21. Not necessarily: http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~dbunny/research/global/co2_glochng.pdf This article is pretty easy to understand so it couldn't possibly have been written by real scientists.
  22. Shit is not settled and a healthy dose of skepticism is good. Quite a coincidence though that the rise of global temps and atmospheric CO2 levels correlate.
  23. Those Lyndon LaRouche dudes are fucking nutjobs.
