  1. Jetboil hung from the center of tent, doors open for venting. keeps ya comfy and the fuel lasts substantially longer
  2. Jeb's nuts. I think he's the guy that wants to do the first ever skydive "landing" without using a 'chute... Sic vid tho...thanks for the link
  3. Great TR and pics!
  4. Petzl Aztarex? http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorgear/Petzl-Aztarex-Ice-Tool/PTZ0092M.html
  5. I just got word from somebody who was up on the 6th and said the 'schrund was barely passable and the moat was getting nasty. They estimated a week left and with the hot weather coming I think the rocks will be the bet. Taking a buddy up for his first alpine outing so was hoping the couloir would be in for the variety it adds. Thanks for the bump!!
  6. Anybody been up there within the last week? How's the couloir approaching the West Ridge, still a means of ascent? Last year that thing was toast by August but that was a hot year. Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance, Troy
  7. no Verizon bars. i've always camped in the Bluelake TH parking lot...usually in the rig put you'll see people with tents on the pavement.
  8. Easton usually has running water lower on the Railroad Grade. Melt snow while camped on the Sulphide. Other than the normal hazards, marmots can be ferocious on Baker and the gully/couloir leading to the summit of Shuksan can be an absolute cluster when there are several teams up there.
  9. outa control leor! impressive as always
  10. yes, you're off your rocker for instantly hopping on the defensive and taking a humorous post about a couple of absurdly named and themed candidates off the primary ballot and turning it into some everybody is a zealot, republicans are bad, we need more social programs rant. while government is agreed good. big government meddling in every facet run by career politicians with special interests in mind over the good of the people is bad. but the post was not about that or even close. it was about the humor of the possibility of Senator Goodspaceguy or Senator "Milkshake" Mike The Mover being sworn in. Both Democratic candidates btw. you spend too much time in Spray, go outside and live life.
  11. wicked

  13. Ptarmigan Traverse
  14. Tough choice though... Goodspaceguy -or- Mike The Mover
  15. only because you know BD's secrets John... and yes I'm a little jealous
  16. @denalidave - bummer man. Momentum was my first harness and still have it as a loaner. all 4 of my reg partners use them and love them and i bought the Primrose (womens version) for the fiance. not one issue with any of them. i'm gonna say you got jipped! i only upgraded to one of the new fancy arcteryx ones because i'm a gear whore...
  17. go for the Sabertooth over the Serac. i like the Petzl Reverso over the ATC, lighter. for a harness, BD Momentum is a good all-arounder and quite light all for $50.
  18. impressive! look fwd to steph"s shots
  19. paradise to muir in under 2hrs in more of a feat than the ski imo you a mad man as always
  20. be safe out there D...you are tearing stuff up right now! i got the GoPro Hero HD Wide...gimme a shout and feel free to borrow it...would love to see this stuff in wide angle 1080p!!
  21. from the rap off trees just above the slab you'd be fine. from the first bolts should be good. there is a second set of chains/bolts as the 3rd/last station which I dont think a 50 will touch bottom from. was just up there with 60 and I dont think there was more than 10-15 ft left as extra on the last rap.
  22. fantastic TR and photos. quite inspiring to make the long haul in there. thanks.
  23. Stubai or Grivel I've beat the snot out of my Stubai's, no bent or broken points after many trips over scree and talaus. The Grivels are nice if its just for snow. Better anti-balling plates.
