Just a heads up... Went up there a couple of days ago. Due to the heavy rains, previous snow fall, and warm temps, the last stream before the split in the trail was about 60ft wide and SERIOUSLY pissed off. There was even a group of search and rescue people doing training or something that had to turn around. So... If the weather is any better, you shouldnt have a problem, but if we have a repeat of last weekend, save yourselves the drive..

Yeah, west ridge was what I was thinking...hmmmm. something to think about. Maybe if we left friday evening.

Everytime the forecast is questionable in that part of the state, I luck out with sunny skys and not a drop of rain... Plus, I dont melt as it turns out... Who woulda guessed!?

I have Friday-Sunday off 2-4th. I'd like to head out thursday night and grab a permit Friday Morning. I called the ranger up there and she said that they've been able to accomodate most people who have shown up. (I mean even worst case scenario we're "stuck" in Leavenworth and have to scrounge up some climbing there. haha) I'd love to spend the whole weekend wandering around the Enchantments, scrambling up Cannon or Little Annapurna or whatever we come across that looks fun. And if our fingers arent completely frozen, go up Prusik Peak. I'm open for variations or even a one day push if you're fit enough and dont have the time...

Still looking.... The weather looks like it is going to be Perfect and route conditions are still good.

Myself and a friend are going up Rainier via DC on Friday night. Looking at leaving the parking lot about 10pm Friday night and hitting the summit around 7am Saturday morning. Not super fast, but not screwing around either. Looking for one more fit, experienced individual to rope up to. We're both in Seattle.
