That is a good philosophy and all but some people go climbing regardless of weather and sometime it changes and you can't help it. Anyway, the shell I bought and have been happy with is the Rab Latok jacket. Its event fabric and cut really nice. I tried it on and bought it at Feathered Friends, good stuff.

Marc, Its nice to hear about teenagers acting mature and taking care of themselves - I did much the same when I was in HS. However, bragging about your independence and spraying on another person's search for a partner doesn't really bode well for your maturity. phdiexxx, Send me a message and we can talk a little more about climbing together.

On the subject of this, what are people favorite screamers? I know yates makes them, so does petzl etc.

I think me and my roommate got frostnip perhaps? His toe is blackish/redish and is still numb, but no blister. I have two finger tips that still have that 'asleep' feeling but no discoloration. This happened last saturday, so its only been five days. I guess we'll wait a couple weeks and see what happens. John, sorry to hear about your fall/losing screws/non summit. Good story now that you're out of it! Hopefully I'll still see you out at Hyalite some time this year.

We were called monday morning about this mission. I know of a handful of people that had already responded and were heading out there monday evening/night. School tied me down this week. Hope everyone is doing well.

Dan, I had a change of plans and was up there climbing the day before. I didn't feel like doing back to back 20 mile days. Some pictures

Here's a little update from this weekend: A lot of the gullies and cracks and such were filled with ice and snow on the N side of Prusik Peak. So plan accordingly. We left another sling and biner to do one more rap so we didn't have to deal with more icy down climbing.

Two things that make that stupid: When I was younger, a lot of those things were true for me. Library card catalog, cassette tapes (no mp3's), no e-mail (and I still write normal letters), no caller id or call waiting. Anyway, what you should think about it, how good you old people got it! Its not like all this technology is limited to the under 30 crowd. Plus you might still get social security. But we're fucked, that is for sure.
