Some pictures of Chair, ice forming at the end of alpental valley and silver pk. About 3-4" around catherine and silver. 5-6" above source lake. This will all change over the next several days with the forecasted snow...
Haven't been around the pass the last couple days. Will get out this afternoon and tomorrow and see whats cooking. It did warm up a bit but we'll see whats happening.
I'll leave with a couple partying shots from Rainier yesterday:
Since I live up here at Alpental and plan to get out quite a bit this winter I figured I'd make a thread with current skiing and climbing conditions for all those that are curious. Hopefully it'll be helpful to some people. Enjoy.

First significant snowfall at Snoqualmie Pass. 1-2" down low, with 4-5" higher up (~5k). Hiked up to Red Mtn Pass. Sun breaks and snow flurries continued throughout the day. Most of the snow has melted out around 3k but Chair Peak still looks great from my window.
This was taken at Red Pond to give you an idea for depth
Are you looking to do technical climbs or walk ups like Adams?
If you're looking to do technical winter climbs I suggest the following:
-Buy/read Jim Nelson's books on recommended climbs.
-Search this website using the Trip Reports functions.
-Know how to take care of yourself in a wet and cold environment.
-avalanche knowledge, etc
Right above lava/tick wall are some good spots.
Also if you head up the road toward the bouldering area as described in Yoder's guidebook are some nice spots.
I'm sure you already know, but try hitting up Aaron Mulkey. Quality guy and knows everything about Cody.
Get stoked, october of 2009, just outside of cody
